    So to preface this, I have never listened to anything by Mount Eerie and had no idea what this album was about. Now that Im crying my eyes out..
    It felt honest. It reminded me of when you visit someone in the cemetery and you stand at their grave updating them on your life. I almost felt like I was intruding by listening, if that makes sense. The whole thing is heart wrenching.

    Still trying to gather my thoughts because it hit a little to close to home for me.

    What you said about the listening experience feeling intrusive, I totally felt that my first few listens. It’s such a human record. If you go look in the album thread I’ve shared some thoughts on how the record has grown in my eyes upon repeated listens.

    Also, just to make it worse, he recorded it in the room where she died using a lot of her instruments. It’s probably the most personal album I’ve ever heard
