I just think it’s kinda ridiculous to be throwing around phrases like “worst album of 2017” like that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I feel i should go back to The Canyon and finish my listening experience for completion purposes and to be able to rate the album on RYM.

They haven't tried that yet, thankfully. Evan does love to be buried in his stuffed animals when he's going to sleep though. He has to have his Elmo, llama, Oscar, and monkey all in his arms, plus his little elephant blankie draped over the top. Not his glow worm, though. He only likes that when he's awake, not when he's going to sleep.

We have a monthly "anonymous" survey at work about how we're feeling about our employment. It's 2 questions, that rotate from month to month, usually some version of rating something on a scale of 1 to 10, and then a third one where you can comment further on the first 2 questions.

Today I used that third one to point out that the wording of the responses to the first question were off, because the question was "How likely are you to still be working here one year from now?" and the responses were listed on a scale of "Not at all satisfied" to "Very satisfied".

Because that's just the kind of person I am.

One of the reviews on RYM. He gave it 5/5

"The Canyon - A Refreshing Display of Raw Exploration and Depth
I have been a fan of the Used ever since their breakout first album. I have been through many disappointing mediocre releases from a band that seemed to be struggling to find itself amid the stardom and drugs. It appeared that Bert and team did not have anymore to write about, nothing to truly connect with their fanbase. This is a common occurrence for artists as they begin to lose touch with the daily struggles of us, the normal fans living day-to-day lives. This probably explains why this album blind-sided me.

At over 80 minutes long, it is a journey of emotions, cutting through the rock and land, properly called "The Canyon". Leading through the first half of the album Bert takes us through his epic grief of mourning the loss of his best friend, Traegan, in Provo Canyon, while the second half of the album includes songs of recovery and moving in a new direction and finding meaning after loss. This album has something that everyone can connect with, and that is what makes this album that much more human.

The next time someone asks me where the true rock music is, I will point them this direction."

The last line sounds like something TUG would say.

I've already started packing my things. But I can't go back and change my response to that question from "Very likely" to "Not at all likely" at this point :-/
