They must have a lot of faith in their streaming service that's full of bugs

The touchpad on my macbook pro is so fucked up. Just looking on line it would cost $600+ to get it fixed since the battery, touchpad, keyboard, and upper shell are all one piece. I really don't want to pay that much just to get a touchpad fixed but I don't know if I can make it 2+ months for the refresh and I really don't want to buy an essentially same model product 2 years after original purchase. If the 15 Macbook Pro doesn't get a refresh at WWDC it puts me in a really bad spot.

I'm more concerned about the lightning port that doubles as the AUX jack. If that's the case, they need to have a Lighting to AUX adapter or even a "T" type adapter that goes Lightning to AUX/Lightning.

How else can we charge it and use the headphones?

i think the only connections will be usb or bluetooth. headphone port is gone. I'm not getting the iphone 7 haha.

Right, but how are you supposed to use the lightning port for your headphones AND charge? That's the main issue.

I'm not too worried about it because there will be adapters where you can use a typical AUX cable.

Yea, my phone loses battery pretty quickly and I have it plugged in to my computer at work when I'm listening to music

I guess thats where i get lucky having an ipod touch, i listen to it 8 hours a day at work and my battery usually lasts about 3 days before i have to charge

Yeah the no headphone jack is scary. I don't want much to do with Bluetooth headphones. There better be an adapter that's included or something...my phone is where I listen to music a vast majority of the time. That being said Apple hated to include nice things and would rather make a phone needlessly thin than just be efficient in its ports.

I mean if they wanted it to be thinner they would ditch the Lightning connector just have the latest USB type C, which is thinner than Lightning.

It's like they're "trying" to was my sentence lol.

Very happy this isn't true, but I do question where Apple is heading. I like Tim Cook and hindsight will prove if he's making the right decisions, but I feel like there's been extra "hate" surrounding Apple and their innovation lately.

All that being said, I just purchased my first Mac in 6 years and got a 5K iMac...can't wait for this thing to arrive. Hope it lasts another 6 years (at least) lol.

  16. They don't use lightning just for thinness. It does a lot of things, including quite a few proprietary things, that they want control over. And switching connectors would be a much bigger deal than getting rid of the old 3.5 jack.

  17. But that makes no sense either? They should be at least thinking about when they would stop selling downloads. That's not ruining the company to be thinking about that plan, and given the state of the music industry it's probably a good idea.

Nothing more or less than I've seen for over a decade. Same old same old with the tales of doom and clickbait flame wars.

Maybe because I'm older and still feel the need to own my content, but I love iTunes and purchasing music/movies through it.

I'm trying to evolve so I just jumped on Apple Music last week and with the recommendation from other members I'll probably buy Vinyl from bands I love and stream everything else.

Now, I have a huge Blu-Ray collection I'm trying to make digital so I can get rid of all these discs and boxes...if only there was Apple Movies ha!

  20. I really do think they're gonna remove it. The internet is also going to have the biggest collective hissy fit when that happens as well.

The mock ups and sketches of the device that have been leaking out have suggested the AUX port gone.

Leaking or faked? They're almost all faked.

Components are suggesting that it won't be gone.

Well everything seems legit, no way of knowing one way or they other but this rumor has been going on for a long time.

There are already dummy units showing the dual lens for the 7+ and the single lens for the 7, also showing the new bands framing the rear of the device rather than from edge to edge. There just isnt the front of the device or the bottom.

It would be one of the best trolls ever if Apple put all this misinformation out there about removing the headphone jack since every manufacturer copies them and wants to be first to market...then Apple never removes it ha.
