It was amazing and hands down the best show I have ever been to. The band was at the top of their game because it was their first time ever playing at Madison Square Gardens.

Something @skurt and I had talked about before, but @Michael Schmidt and myself will be using the weekend to work on making the master list available to all staff on a google list doc so it’s readily accessible to all staff memebers.

So are we liking the 10 day sessions as opposed to the 7 day ones?

I personally feel it’s kind of slowed things down around here, that’s why I’m asking

I have to agree that it’s slightly less motivating going from 7 to 10.

    run away with me Platinum

I thought we were talking about Craig David songs for a sec, 7 days is fine, I think I suggested more and that's just because people needed catchup time but I think a week is fine, I feel like there's leeway regardless
I do mine pretty efficiently because I don't want to forget to do it

Personally, with college being a thing again, I like having the extra time to listen to stuff. I can't give it the same attention during the week

Would wager college is a factor in a few people's slowing pace, or school in general if they're parents

I think the slowing pace can probably be attributed to both the lengthier session times and the holiday season. I know that I’ve been pretty busy with various holiday parties/events over the past month and I suspect that I’m not the only one!

@BTDandFeelingThis and I swapped records this past week and I reviewed:

    Breaking Benjamin: Phobia

I know @BTDandFeelingThis has a profound love for this band, among many others, that he proudly wears on his sleeve. What I have come to learn about the bands that he enjoys is they are infectious and continue to grow on you with every listen. I have never really actively listened to the band but know many of their singles so I asked him to give me his favorite album and this the one he recommended.

Side Note: I did listen to Lifer, which is the previous band two of the members used to be in before they went on to form Breaking Benjamin. I was introduced to them from the Scorpion King Soundtrack, which is a great mix of Hard Rock.

To anyone not familiar with Breaking Benjamin, they are a Hard Rock band out of Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania, led by front man Benjamin Burnley. What is immediately noticeable is that his vocals are reminiscent of James Maynard or Jesse Hasek of 10 Years, two bands that I am huge fans of so it's that makes the band instantly easy for me to connect to. The music on the other hand is unfortunately nothing that is going to change the world and falls into a lesser version of Tool, A Perfect Circle or 10 Years.

Upon first listen, the album seems like a lot of pent up anger but upon further inspection this record is an emotional ride wrapped in a hard shell that is begging to be cracked open. Topics range from relationships (The Diary of Jane/Breath), overcoming adversity (Until the End) and losing faith in something (Evil Angel). The song that really digs the deepest is Unknown Soldier and deals with someone forced to obey orders that they may not agree with along with just being a chess piece in a larger game and they have no control over and nobody will remember him in the end.

I read a few interviews with the band and the cover of the album holds a great deal of symbolism. It is of an angel with arms stretched out over a runway. Benjamin Burnley has a profound fear of flying, not unlike Travis Barker, and states they do not tour anywhere he can't get to from a boat. He also suffers from death and driving anxiety, fear of the dark and is a hypochondriac and these topics can be found in some form in many of the lyrics throughout the album.

This album is a great introduction to the band and gets better with every listen.
I enjoyed all of the songs and they are all worth checking out.
    7/10
