I'm not a hip hop head so what I've heard is pretty limited. There has been some stuff listed that I really just loathe. The sound that has been pretty big for the last few years is such a turn off.

I get why people don't like this current sound and sometimes I think it's really awful too (like with Lil Yachty) but for the most part i love it. It's more about melody than rapping though.

 

My skinny jeans are getting too small for my legs.

 

What are your feelings on the Drake and Kanye albums?

 

Chance and Twin Peaks dropping tonight, two of my most anticipated of the year. I'm excited!

 

I think it is a combination of the two things for me. Haha. Leg day is basically every day for me and I do laundry too often. I'm waiting for them to tear when I tie my shoes.

 

I really have zero interest in listening to Kanye or Beyonce, but I also feel like I'm going to miss out on understanding conversations that may or may not happen about said albums.

 

Drake is a snooze but One Dance is a perfect song. Really sad about that as a former Drake stan. Kanye album I love though even though I really dislike Wolves. I think I'll love everything he does at this point. Still waiting for him to miss.

 

I too found Drake quite underwhelming. Maybe I'll revisit it more in the Fall as it seems more time appropriate.

 

TLOP might be my least favorite Ye if only because I really never feel like listening to it. It's not bad, it's just not really doing anything for me

 

I haven't listened in a couple weeks because any time I start it I feel like I have to listen to the whole thing to properly experience it. I love it, but I get that.

 

I don't understand this but that's fine.

 

My boss asked why it sounds like I'm playing Counterstrike at my desk. I guess I'm loud on the keys.

 

It could also because I really don't feel like discussing the album with anyone after the horrible, horrible conversations that happened after it dropped

 

Checking out the Aesop Rock album now. It's good, but that's about it. Doesn't really do anything more for me.

 

I've never listened to Aesop Rock before so I don't want to start right now.

 

Aesop is kind of an acquired taste anyways.

 

when Beyonce dropped Lemonade, the next day I had no idea what the fuck people were talking about. I still really have no idea....the album is about Jay-Z cheating on her? Becky with the good hair?

Now I just want some homemade Lemonade.

 

I love TLOP & don't go more than 3 days without listening to it front to back.

Also, Is the general feeling towards Lil Yachty one of dislike?! I really liked his mixtape a lot - good, fun listen IMO

 

I've only heard good things about Lil Yachty and enjoyed the few tracks I've listened too. Been meaning to check that tape out.

 

Have you never given any of her music a shot beyond singles? It really is a masterfully crafted album that's overflowing with emotion and both personal and social importance.

You def should. I read somewhere that he's really influenced by Coldplay! Don't think i've ever heard a rapper cite them as influences before.

 

I don't think I've heard anyone cite Coldplay as an influence.
