Well, when you need it mixed/mastered @sophos34 is your guy!

Also I’m down if you ever want a co-writer on a song or something

The food is comparable to Aladdins, if you've had that. I'd say maybe even a slight step up. You can get it there or to go, we got it to go and the food was so fresh and delicious. They were also super friendly there

Thinking about taking a risk with our record and putting an acoustic track real early but also don’t want to kill the flow early on. We will see!

    Good morning, thread.

Opening up this rainy, 62F(?!) NY morning trying to get into The Menzingers' After the Party.

    How is everyone?

    Tired.

First week of wife working at 8am every morning which means kids have to be up and out the door by 720.

    Not fun.

Uh this... you learn some things over time to deal with it but it’s real hard when you have asthetics between members that are completely opposite.

    Sorry :-/
You drive them to school in the morning?

Right? Can't explain why this feels inaccessible. When it was released, I didn't like it then and thought it would be a good idea to wait until the sounds had faded from memory to revisit. Of course, it ends up on a bunch of year-end lists and now I'm still not invested as remotely as with OTIP or Rented World

I guess the album spoke to me soo hard bc its about playing music in your 30s which is somethig I am doing (on a very small scale) but its something I can relate too. When I tell people I'm in a band playing shows, making a record.. they look at me funny like you're 31 WTF? Then I think they realize its sort of cool or at least do a better job at hiding their surprise but that whole idea sort of made me connect with the album more.

And what a way you won me over

I've been trying to get my girlfriend into the The Menzingers. I've managed to convinced her to come to their show in Feb with me, but I really want her to enjoy it haha

At the moment I'm having to go and watch Pitch Perfect 3 the next day as some sort of compromise...

You're the perfect demographic for ATP, in the lyrical sense. They mentioned when the album came out, "What to you do after the best days of your life are over? What do you do with all that time alone?", and while defining "best" is quantified differently by our priorities, being married for a while now and with 2 kids I was hoping to relate to the message more. It's there, maybe I'm just over the band for a bit. This is frustrating lol.

Btw if this was a democracy, I'd vote for you to start the album with an acoustic track, go big or go home ;-)

I don't take them because my wife works about half a mile from their school, but she's not able to get herself ready and both kids in time. if they don't leave at 7:20-7:30 then she has to go without them and then I get to take them, which means about a 45 minute round trip out of my way to go to work since I work closer to my house.

so for this week I've been getting up at 615 and getting them ready and out the door, then I get ready and go to work. It's not that bad, but I'm not a morning person at all and neither are my kids, they complain non-stop that we woke them up.

I know it could be worse haha, it's just the first week has taken a toll on me and I'm not looking forward to school starting for my wife on top of her internship and part time job.

  22. I think you should do it. But I'm such a sucker for acoustic or keyboard-lead tracks so I'm biased

It's a wash! I liked it a good amount, but it didn't blow me away! There were some severe flaws I had with the movie, I'm assuming @Dog with a Blog probably shares with me.
