Hmm. Tough match up. I love both songs. Just listened to both songs again and while I still really like Fields and Fences, I don't like it quite as much as when this album was first out and I was addicted to that song.

I guess I will have to go Holly Wood Died. That outro is too great.

My favorite thing about both of these is that they have amazing instrumentals and outros - Holly Wood Died is the better song though

FAF is fucking GREAT don't get me wrong, but to consider it their best song is absurd. I am fine with considering HWD their best song. I think it's top 5 easily for me.

 

On what planet could "Holly Wood Died" possibly be considered their best song? I don't think "Fields and Fences" is their best song either, but there are a lot more qualities to that song that make it worthy of that title than there are in HWD.

I didnt think there would be this much backlash for a song with a crazy catchy chorus, great guitar solo and epic string jam ending winning over a folk song that pauses halfway through to become a different/better song

 

People love to hate L&S despite it having a lot of great songs.

 

That’s because it doesn’t. It’s got a few good songs that are still the worst songs they wrote ... and the rest are soooooo much better.

 

Haha. Shrug. I’ll never understand the strong hatred towards it.

 

I’ve given that album way more chances than any other album I dislike, and I still dislike it.
