Oh, and to answer your question, no I have not seen a lot of recent PG movies, there really aren’t too many nowadays. But I did see the trailer for Sherlock Gnomes which is PG and should be rated NC-17

But like, compared to PG ratings of the 80’s when PG-13 wasn’t a thing, these kids movies are very tame.

Anybody watch Runaway Ralph as a kid?

yeah, I know. I get it, parents should be monitoring what kids see and hear and should be there with them while they consume any media really.

but, we should be able to rely on the rating system at least a little bit, like if something is rated G, I should be pretty sure there won't be any name calling/violence/or mean words

watch ratatouille and tell me that G is an accurate rating for that.

    we need a pre-G rating.

Is it bad that I truly don’t give a shit if my future kids hear bad words? Like I’ll play Yeezus on car rides with them

New Hussey is out on Friday. I've got a good feeling about it. I think it will be a special record.

honestly I don't care too much about profanity, I just don't want them calling eachother names like stupid or shitface.

but if they stub their toe and say god dammit, I don't really care. haha.

my wife would have a different answer though.

What if the other is legit being "stupid" or a "shitface"?

maybe when they get older. haha.

trying to keep the name calling down to a minimum.

my daughter did call me a "laser" one day.

hard not to laugh at that.

Nah, I'm with you there, except on the Yeezus part, but I also agree with what @littlejohn just posted.

They need to know what the words are, what they mean, that not everyone is receptive to them, and that there are appropriate and inappropriate times to use them.

The issue is that their understanding of these things doesn't come all at once and probably comes a lot later than most of us realize.

what if they're using those words as terms of endearment
