Just rewatched that rumble. I just remembered how infuriating that Daniel Bryan title run was. They literally had the hottest most over guy in a long time and they just wanted to drag it out. You can’t give the fans what they want. Ever. And by the time they did, he was injured.
The same with Braun. He’s nowhere near as over as dbry but he’s over and they should put the title on him, but nope.

 

What's always the most fascinating for me is that, if you take out Bryan's minuscule reigns (3 championships, totaling basically 6 weeks) and look at the history of the title: Dean Ambrose cashing in and winning at MITB 2016 was the first truly over face champion that held the title since fucking CM Punk in 2011.

That is an amazing stat.

 

I just saw this clip of the rock and cm punk doing a promo in the ring before the rumble, and I miss how great punk used to be. “Your arms are too short to box with god.” And the rock was also fantastic as always. Great times.

Yep. The more amazing part is Braun could have held the title from Summerslam through Survivor Series. Find some way to get it back on Brock by the Rumble, its a win-win.

Especially because I dont see them jettisoning Roman so fast this time. Meaning Braun is gonna have been over for a year and a half before he gets the title, at best, and guys like Seth and Dean and Joe will just be sitting around waiting there turn.

I was 100% sure we were gonna see a title change in Summerslam, but I guess their intentions are clear. They want Brock to have held the title from one WM to the next and be such a “dominant” champion, yet he has the same number of title defenses the Miz had while IC champ.
