woof rewatching the 2015 Royal Rumble and man did WWE fuck up that booking

 

eliminating Daniel Bryan half way through essentially killed the rest of the match - it didn't matter who was gonna win the crowd was done with it

Wasn't this also the one where the majority of the final eliminations occurred from Big Show and Kane just beating the shit out of everyone and then just rolling their limp bodies over the top rope? That was one of the worst ways to dwindle down the numbers at the end of a Rumble. Especially when there were big names still in at the time (Bray, Ziggler, Ambrose, etc).

 

yup and Bray Wyatt eliminated like 6 dudes in a total of 6 minutes and then got punked at the end too

literally every entrant got booed or met with indifference (save for Ambrose) once Bryan was eliminated

 

Asuka/Miz is hilarious, moreso than Braun/Alexa because Miz is miles better at his role than Bliss is at hers. Also because Asuka is going to pin her.

 

Yeah, he needed to not be in the Rumble somehow, basically. They doubled down on the stupid by having Roman beat him at Fastlane

 

Big Show and Kane eliminated Dean Ambrose, Dolph, and Bray Wyatt.

which is honestly a perfect metaphor for how WWE books their young talent

and that was when the crowd was super hot on Dolph after that 2014 Survivor Series match and then they killed that momentum per usual

 

like Big Show's KO punch is stupid finisher ever and it took out Dolph and Bray hahaha

god I hate this Rumble so much and it has zero to do with Roman winning

 

hahaha the final four is Big Show, Kane, Roman Reigns, and Rusev (lying on the floor)

once Dean is eliminated the Philly crowd is chanting bullshit and booing the rest of the match

Cole goes "the WWE universe is obviously not happy" hahaa

 

Pretty glad Kane isn't even in the match this year

 

The 'best' part is that they re-use Santino Marella's spot on Rusev there. It was done just 4 years prior!

 

and Reigns eliminates Big Show and Kane at the same time and they ring the bell even though Rusev wasn't eliminated hahaha

like the crowd was rooting for Rusev and that was at the height of his "hate USA" phase

he is obviously gonna lose the triple threat but that won't stop WWE from having him enter at like fucking 22

 

That PPV was the first night I got into wrestling lol. That three way match for the title was so so good.

 

it was so fucking good and it makes this show still watchable for me but woof was the Rumble so poorly booked

every one looked like a fucking goober by the end of it
