I knew I wasn't going crazy.

 

I remember using Scyther in Fire Red and he was my favorite while being one of the weak links of my Elite 4 team.

Looking back at it now, what a terrible typing. No wonder I struggled with him. My adamant banded Scizor packs a mean Bullet Punch though, so all is forgiven!

 

And by that note, anyone here still breeding 'mons and whatnots? Might get around to finishing OR and start getting competitive again. I used to do it a lot in X/Y so I might have some to trade as well.

 

Eviolite Scyther is awesome tho

I wish I had the patience to learn to competitively battle and breed. Any ideas on where to start?

 

smogon and Pokemon showdown. You can come up with teams or see other teams people use. They use a tier system so that you can use Pokemon that wouldn't normally work under conditions of allowing everything. On Showdown I only play random battle as of late but did play a little bit of OU.

 

Never could get into competitive battling, don't know shit about stats, match ups, etc.

Just like to do fun playthroughs where a build a fun team of cool looking Pokemon that's varied enough to beat gyms/Elite 4.

 

Thanks. I'll check it out. It's sad that I've been playing since Gen 1 before the anime yet don't know the slightest thing past type advantages

I bet the developers laughed so hard when they made Gardevoir have to be level 85 to learn Moonblast on X/Y.

 

Well the Move Tutor takes care of that nicely, thankfully.

Never caught them all, either. 5 year old me hated them being holed up in a box. The anime made me feel better by explaining the fact that they stayed with Proffessor Oak.

 

I've yet to catch them all, haha. I've been close in pretty much every game but never completed a Pokedex. I got to 150 in Red/Blue.

It's pretty simple as far as I know, but it's also really really really really really really time consuming, so it makes sense why it'd be off-putting to all the lazy scum. Like myself.

 

Apparently the names of the legendaries are Solgaleo and Lunaala, as those are two names that were registered for trademark by Game Freak.

 

Ugh, the new starters are so good. The cat and the owl are dope, two of my favorite animals. I wonder if S/M will finally have a dolphin Pokemon?

Oh and I hope the Battle Frontier gets an overhaul, but I doubt they'll ever make it as good as Emerald again.

 

Breeding for 5IVs is cool but raising for EVs and then levelling them up? I wish it didn't take up so much time just to build a team. I understand the whole "it has to feel like you're actually raising them" thing but I honestly wish they could do something about those in the next release.

 

I think I caught them all up to Diamond.

 

Late to the thread but totally going Owl and Moon, Bat is one of the best designed legendaries they've done imo.
