Alright, it's post holiday season, so here's another post about everything I've currently got on my gaming plate (with some mild commentary?) Hoping to finish some of these in 2018.

Persona 5 - I love this game, but rarely find myself having what I consider a decent amount of time to dedicate to it? I'm like 20 hours in and find myself progressing like 2 hours at a time.

Breath of the Wild - Maybe it hasn't clicked with me yet? I play a shrine here, a shrine there. Only one Divine Beast knocked out and find it really difficult to pick up.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 - I like this game a lot. 15 hours in, chapter 3 maybe. The story hasn't fully gripped me yet, but it's the perfect game to have portable and I feel like I'll be putting some serious hours in based on that fact alone.

Super Mario Odyssey - This game just makes me happy. I don't want it to be done because I don't know the likelihood of myself replaying it, but I'm enjoying every minute of it.

ARK: Survival Evolved - My brother-in-law turned me onto this one over the holidays and I've gotten low-key obsessed. Bonus points because my wife thinks it's fun to watch and keeps making fun of me every time I die an untimely death. A little kid with his mic turned all the way up screamed at me after I stabbed him and he came back 2 minutes later with a T-Rex that ate me through the roof of my own house. It was awesome.

Cities: Skylines - I put "learn Paradox strategy games" in my 2018 resolutions and this one felt the most beginner-friendly even though I know it's nothing like CK2 or EU4. Having fun with it so far, but it's kinda stressful.

Horizon: Zero Dawn - I'm only like 3 hours in and I LOVE THIS GAME. I just hate that I haven't had much time to play it (due to life and, uh, every other game above this.) Aloy is so cool and combat is a blast. Game just feels slick and streamlined, everything I want out of a modern AAA title.

Trails in the Sky FC - Just found out they made speedhack in this native so now I can zip through battles at 6x speed. Pretty sure that alone will make me hop back on this and blaze through. That and I put "beat as many Trails games as possible" on my personal resolution list, haha.

Past all that, through GameStop B2G1 and Steam sale I'm sitting on some other goodies to last me through the year. Really planned on stocking up while I could afford it to entertain myself when I'm back to reality and don't have Christmas money.

Was also hyped on Monster Hunter World, but my wife watched me play the beta and kept getting upset about me "killing all these innocent beasts" and now I feel weird about it even though I know how stupid that is in the context of video games (ha.)

Long post. Whoops. Bored at work. *shrug*

 

All I remember is storm saying “fuck off” when someone posted a honest trailer of AC: O. Which is what I believe started this whole thing. I’m sure storm though was getting tired of people picking on Ubisoft. I get mad when people bag on Fallout 4, and other games I like. Though I just feel this whole thread has had a lot of negative posts lately. Not just from Storm.

I really didn’t want to say anything, but I feel this has gone on too long.

I agree Cameron. Sorry mate. I'm stubborn though, so if people are gonna reply or address me I'm not the type to ignore, I'd rather talk about it. I know that comes at the expense of others like you, so sorry for making you uncomfortable.

 

it’s ok. I think we can all agree we’re very passionate about video game. We can all get overheated about properties/studios we love.

 

“still going on about this”. please don’t put on a facade that i am the sole catalyst of this exchange. i think it’s reasonable that someone gives up hoping a bunch of adults can show each other some respect, and the ensuing “har har he can’t handle the internet” was the cherry on top. i’m sorry that i didn’t quote you, but no one should need to tell you what you did was less than ideal.

 

In the breakroom at work. Someone came in and I said “Hey, how are you?” She responded, “good, how are you?” And I responded “good, how are you?” Hahaha, I feel like a total ass and had to let someone else know.

 

Nobody is putting up a "facade that you're the sole catalyst of the exchange"? I said I wanted to be done with this and I explained myself. Yeah, it was less than ideal but it's not the worst thing ever either.

 

Anybody ever had issues with their X1 skipping when they watch Blurays?

 

I wish I could help you out man, but I don't think I've ever watched a Bluray on my Xbox.

 

No, but on my PS4 sometimes it won’t resume playback if I stopped it midway. Though my dvds will work fine for some reason.

if so, and it still doesn't work, that's cause the player itself sucks. b/c they were already supposed to fix this two years ago Microsoft Promises Xbox One Update To Fix Stuttering Video Playback Issue

 

Yeah I've gone through troubleshooting stuff and nothing seems to work. I have a feeling it's the Laser, just bought a disc cleaner but I'm a bit skeptical if that'll work or not.

 

So I’ve just gotten to Memphis in Ac: Origins and shit just went OFF THE RAILS.

I might have to go back and actually give syndicate a chance after this haha the trailer looks insane.

I’m going to say going forward, I’m done being aggressive or antagonistic to people in here. I’ve been a part of the problem and I’m stopping that. I’ll express my opinions but I’m not going to be shitty about them or undermine people who disagree.

 

Started Assassins Creed origins yesterday, absolutely loving it. Checking all my boxes. @mescalineeyes are amply hyped and trading experience in DMs as we play through.

 

As much as I'm loving AC Origins, I think I need a break from open world games after I finish it lol

 

I got all trophies in origins after 75hr of playing on hard.

 

It is such a BIG change from the previous games. Although, i'm finding myself incredibly overwhelmed with the sheer amount that can be done. Approx. 50 hours in and I haven't even scratched the main story. Just got to Faiyum (or leaving)
