First match day of the year. Hoping we can start the year with a win.

 

What a crock of shite. We got trounced by a dreadful Burton team. We completely lacked desire. Utter shambles. We’re going down.

Spurs have 3 games in 5 days this week. The middle game being a London derby against West Ham. Such a huge week in the top 4 race.

Spurs live a blessed life between Alli's constant diving and refs not giving second yellows. Sanchez should be off.

 

Though they should have had a penalty there.

I didn’t see a lot of the game but the field looked awful. Has it been raining there all week or something?

 

Kane’s assist today was incredible. Dude has been making highlight passes all year.

David Silva’s personal reasons for missing these games were revealed. His son was born extremely premature and they’ve been in the hospital with him. :(

 

Someone care to explain why the Premier league is playing so many games the last two weeks ? Is it because of the domestic cups they have to schedule around?

 

it's just tradition in england to try murder the players for christmas but yeah having two domestic cups doesn't help scheduling (although scotland have two and still have a winter break)

 

I posted this yesterday but Spurs play Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday this week. That’s a bit much.

 

Think this is the first year I've come round to the idea of it being too many games. As a supporter growing up, it was awesome - being off school or uni or work and there just being game after game to watch, literally the best thing.

But it just doesn't benefit anyone else. That Spurs schedule is unbelievable, how can players be expected to cope with that? Heightens chances of injury, and can only lead to players being fatigued going into the rest of the season and any international tournaments in the summer.
