I understand complaints of her and Finn's sidequest arc, but her character is great and I don't understand any backlash on Rose.

    Best one I've seen!
Would have made it better but spoilers I guess?

She's a great character and Kelly Marie Tran gives a fantastic performance. While certainly not all of it, there's been an element of sexism in many of the complaints I've heard.

Excited to see this next weekend with my GF who hasn’t seen it yet. Can’t wait to see her reactions.

    music and baseball.

I ran into someone who said that, too. He was upset that she saved Finn from martyring himself. Thus, blaming her for Luke having to sacrifice himself, and the rebellion losing him.

So dumb. I just sat there silently.

But.....Luke still was going to force project himself there no matter what right? Destorying the Deathstar cannon wouldn't have stop Ren and his fleet from trying to break into the base.

    music and baseball.

I dunno. Not my argument. lol

But, destroying the cannon would have gave them more time in the base, since their other weapons wouldn't be able to destroy the gate, but they'd be turtling in there with no where to go. So I guess he'd have to show up and help some way or another.

Do it, if you liked the first viewing you'll like it even more the second time around.

I think I will. IMAX was so good, I think I need to see it again before I lose the chance

As a casual star wars fan, I found this movie immensely entertaining and enjoyed the story direction (despite a few parts being a bit too fantastical and a stretch on the established rules). I am excited to see how 9 wraps up this particular arc.

Can a casual star wars fan NOT find this movie entertaining?

We reach for the longest shadow

I'm sure there are some, but most of the hate is coming from "fanboys", who have a problem with how Luke is handled and how the force works in this movie compared to other movies.

I guess that is mostly my point. 99 % of the films detractors are die hard fans.

When lotr came out I had a few friends who were obsessed with the books and despised the films.

As long and as detailed as those books are, I have a hard time believing they could've done a much better job. The Hobbit movies on the other hand...

I really enjoyed those Hobbit movies, but I've only read like half the book
