How much interest might there be in a skateboarding thread in the sports forum? Discussing your own skating, videos, contests, maybe other "extreme" sports? Is there already a thread like that?

Mostly because I want a place to complain about how sore my knees are and I don't know if this is the place to do that. Also I just love skating and talking about it and it's been one of the few things that doesn't seem to have an active community on AP, so I'm curious as to how people feel about it.

Don't skate but I am on a bus coming down from a Vermont snowboarding trip where this girl's toes keep poking at me through the seat.

I wouldn't mind a place to talk about my sore knees tho. So I'd probably just post for that.

I remember I bought a Trivium record in like 7th grade and it had a parental advisory sticker on it so I hid it because I thought my parents would take it away if they found out.

 

Just looked behind me. The girl is pretty cute. I'm oddly not too bothered by it now.

 

The like third part of that video sounds exactly like one of the songs on their debut. Die in my arms or something

 

Still not into toes

 

I saw Trivium when I was in 9th grade. They covered blink-182 to loud boos.

 

Socks were pretty cute too.

 

We're on to something here. Were trivium just a shit metal blink cover band?

 

They felt like a Metallica cover band; they bit Metallica really hard, their singer just screamed more. I liked them and they were good guitarists, but I forgot about them quickly after getting into better metal.

They played "Dammit" at the show I went to and no one except me was happy about it. They stopped in the middle of the performance and were like "What you guys aren't into this, you don't like blink?"

 

Their second album was super Metallica wasn't it? And they turned the bass up WAY too loud in mixing. That's pretty much all I remember. They were my gateway to heavier music.

Yeah I liked Ascendency a lot when I was 14 and the next one lost me, it was really clearly Metallica-lite, at least in my recollection of it, I haven't listened to it since then.
