there is a package of like 5-6 different mini games that we can choose from. so jackbox 1 has a collection of mini games, jackbox 2 has a different collection of new/revised mini games, so on and so forth. I stream the "host" game to my youtube channel, everyone tunes in on their tvs or laptops, and then plays along via their phone or tables internet browser by going to jackbox.tv and entering the room code that is specific to our game and their name. The question prompts appear on the "host" game which you all view on the youtube stream and then your phone is synched to that game and your dialogue box to enter your answer appears on your phones screen. You vote/choose answers on your phone screen and the answer/winner/game is shown on the stream to see. it sounds confusing but basically you turn on the stream and play along on your phone. then we chat in the discord and dunk on me pretty much.

you don't need to buy them unless you want to play at your place irl with your friends. I already have them on my PS4 so I am the "host" and you just tune into the youtube stream and play on your phone. you arne't required to have the game to play along.
