That said now that I think about it I wouldn't have minded Finn or Rose asking him why hes there/why should they trust somebody in jail and him just telling them that. Wouldnt have taken much time. Would've added to the character more.

Still not a big deal. Glad they had a good story for it.

I feel like not including that is strategic. Less dialogue (for all situations like that one) for the blockbuster watchers, and the people who really want explanations for this are the people willing to dig into canon to find out.

There needs to be a "pop-up" version that explains everything for the people that need to get home and write "plot hole" posts or videos on the internet I guess. ;-p

Random question did anybody genuinely like his stutter? Havent seen many people say so.

I didnt find it as offensive or anything, but couldve done without it. It just didnt really fit for me. I wouldve rather him be more smiley/happy. Not like creepily, but just make him a genuinely happy person. Smiling when he takes Rose's necklace that obviously means a lot to her. Smiling when he gives it back. Smiling when he betrays them. Smiling when Finn says "Youre wrong" and he says "maybe". Just enjoys his life being free of a label and not being a part of anything. Seeing him smile through all the corruption and lack of moral responsibility would infuriate Finn even more and see what a life of being happy simply surviving (which is kind of what he wants up until that point) looks like.

    Just a thought.

Falcon looks different. Is it supposed to be lighthearted? This poster feels lighthearted.

I don’t know that I “liked” the stutter. I wasn’t, like, fist pumping when I first heard it or anything. But I think it served a narrative purpose. I viewed it as a way to make DJ more disarming. Even in a galaxy far, far away, I think people have certain prejudices and assumptions about speech impediments.

It struck me as a way to make him less threatening, considering the fact that they are meeting this guy in a prison cell.

I liked the stutter. Can’t defend it or have a specific reason why, but I remember telling my wife it worked for me after the first viewing.

This is me as well, but I’m hoping that either my excitement builds or I just get pleasantly surprised come May.

Just read an update in Slashfilm that the Solo art is not from Disney/Lucasfilm.

Edit: Disney and Lucasfilm have confirmed to us that this art was not created by them for the movie and are not aware of its origins. We have added thoughts on its potential origins below.

  18. Whoever did the design for Crait did such a good job. The contrast of the red and white was so beautiful to see.

I think this is easily the "prettiest" SW movie to date. "Visually pleasing" works as well.

This is might fit in the canon thread more, but it’s all connected to The Last Jedi.

One Shot Star Wars: Storms of Crait came out today if you want to see the OT Rebels on Crait in ski-speeders after A New Hope. It’s fun but nothing earth shattering. A DJ One Shot is coming out at the end of January.

There’s a Porg back-up in Star Wars Adventures #5 that’s really cute and #6 next month will feature Rose as the main character.

There’s a new 5 issue Forces of Destiny series scheduled to start next week I believe with a new issue out every week about a new character and I noticed week 5 is Rose and Paige written by the author of the recent Phasma book.

Went and saw this for a second time on Tuesday while visiting my family for Christmas. Theatre was packed and the showing we initially wanted sold out half an hour before it started.

Loved this even more on the second showing, too.
