I feel bad that's she's getting shot down pretty much every time :( (even though I haven't agreed with a lot of what she's argued for hah)

 

Brad was so firm on destiny 2 making best looking game like he knew it would never get shot down lmao

 

I remember one year, I think it was back in 2011, Brad almost cried and it was amazing. At least it sounded like he was on the verge of tears

 

I guess yeah, though I think she really isn't a good critic, which to be fair isn't what she was hired for in the first place

My favorite GOTY podcast moment is Jeff absolutely tearing into Brad on Fallout 4.


Brad gets very dug-in on certain games (Destiny anyone) and it can get really annoying.

Also love Abby but calling Nier's music generic JRPG was dumbfounding.

 

I just started day 2 of the EOTY pods. I started with the best multiplayer one.

 

Yeahhhh, I love Abby, but I’ve probably heard “very good” as a descriptor like 25 times now lol

 

I agree but I do think he often turns out to be right

 

Just finished Life Is Strange: Before the Storm

I am a huge fan of the original so I went into this one with expectations, however I doubted the prequel could be as good. After finishing I think the original is better in every way: gameplay, story, music, content, and choices. But that doesn't mean Beyond the Storm wasn't good. I still fully enjoyed it and the story developed Chloe and Rachel's characters that even enhance the original more. You now have an understanding that they weren't just in a relationship, but they went through some shit together making Rachel's disappearance in the first one that much more devastating for Chloe.

Good shit...only thing is now I feel like an angsty teenage female.

 

Brad: talks about failure of wii u and then mentions how the gamecube looks like a lunch box.

I have Evil Within 2 and Shadow of War waiting for me. I just haven't been in the mood to grind through either game. Wolfenstein 2 kept me busy as did Odyssey. Maybe when the dead of winter hits in Jan and Feb I'll have time.

 

The "Best World" segment might be the worst GB GOTY segment in the history of the site

 

Where is this at? Need to start going through these.

I love enjoy seeing you go through the cycle of Skyrim lmao it's definitely a love-hate game

 

doubt I'll watch any of the full podcasts but scanning through and looking at the winners they've had pretty good picks so far.

When I read this I thought “how? That sounds like such a cool category”. But I just started listening and wow they don’t have this defined AT ALL lol.

 

Jeff's definition made the most sense to me, like when you talk the worldbuilding of a movie you don't necessarily hold it against the world that the plot is less than perfect.
