I kind of thought about it for a min before voting....but then I came to my senses. Poison is a fantastic song......but Fate is Fate.

 

Yeah, Fate is my all time favorite SOTY song, so voting for it was a no brainer. But Poison is a worthy adversary! Aside from that solo, Adam’s bass work in the verses is fantastic as well.

 

Absolutely.

I think my favorite SOTY moment ever is in Fate, the badass drumming while they chant BURN! which leads into the most epic ending I've heard in a song I'm sure.

I'm so lucky I got to see them in their prime play that song with Adam and Phil on Guitar too, they always went so nuts for that song. Seeing it post Adam isn't the same.

 

Yeah I think that was Adam’s favorite SOTY song. I remember in the liner notes he said he was proud that they had written a song that was heavy enough that Dimebag Darrell could headbang to it haha.

 

RIP Dimebag. I so want a Pantera reunion with Zakk Wylde. Ok, back to SOTY.

 

Saaaaame. Phil and Vin need to bury the hatchet.

 

Rex did a podcast episode with Jasta and he said that Vinny is pretty stubborn and hasn't communicated with Rex much either, not that they are necessarily having a beef. I guess Rex and Phil are good again and that they both would be up for doing something with Wylde. Vinny is the hold up and the one being difficult on multiple fronts.

 

I think it may be the whole bands favorite song, didn't Ryan say that too and stated they will never play a show and leave this song off. So far they have kept their word. It's funny somtimes when they play a short Warped set or something. All poppier songs like Until the Day I Die, Anthem and then a brutal thrasher like Fate hahaha.

 

Yeah I remember Vinny saying he’ll never forgive Phil for what he said about Dime prior to the shooting. I get being upset and hurt but I mean...it’s Phil. He says stupid shit. I’m pretty sure even Dime’s girlfriend has forgiven him at this point.

 

There are only 2 songs on here I'd pick over Fate. We Don't Care Anymore and Pay Your Enemy.

 

I'd pick pretty much any song on here over Fate (except maybe Meathead)

 

That means you'd take Five Against the World over Fate?

Meathead does rule hard though so I'll give you that.

Impossible choices, but Ryan's solos give the win to March and take me back. Could just as well have done that to poison too, but as others have said, fate is fate.
