Or, if you want to justify it in an even simpler way, it could be that affecting the physical world with a projection could take an extra bit of concentration which Luke did not have while trying to maintain his confrontation with Kylo. I think it's just easiest to assume Luke's powers differ from Yoda's which shows why he has that extra bit of power to use lightning and Luke doesn't even move the dirt. I'm not sure but I really didn't even think about it too much.

Because the director himself deliberalty included a shot in the movie to establish that the projection was not physical. That's how I know. And knock it off with the whole miserable ass thing you sound like a child haha

See! @Jason Tate answering your questions has changed your mind. Wow! I sure was wrong about all these questions being stupid and pointless.

But I gotta go. I’m constructing a First Order Star Destroyer and I’ve fallen behind schedule. I must double my efforts!

  4. That’s not what a plot hole is. You don’t watch Titanic and say the ship never sunk: plot hole! You’re given the answer in the film.

Bruh, there are multiple films that leave clues right out in the open like that, doesn’t mean it’s a fucking plot hole.

  6. No, he showed you Luke himself was not physical. That doesn’t change the rain or dice. Both may be or may not be. By Kylo experiences them as such either way.

I'm not arguing that movies leave room for interpretation, but it wouldve just been easier to remove ths 2 second shot that specifically establishes Luke has no physical affect, than to rely on audience members to literally just make stuff up to explain it.

It’s almost like some people forget that film is a visual storytelling medium.

See my post below about just leaving that shot out. It solves all the issues and wouldve avoided any talks of a plot hole. If Rian didnt want us to believe that projection is simply a 100% visual affect, he shouldve just left that shot out.

  10. Luke himself specifically and deliberately not being a physical thing (because of who Luke is) doesn’t change if the force can create a physical effect to someone as well. We know it can. This is established multiple times.

Bad example there. You see the titanic sink and it doesnt come back what would be the plot he there? The audience was not forced to make up an excuse as to where the boat went. Again Rian SHOWS in the film that luke is not affecting the physical world, you are making up in your head that he is picking and choosing when to be physical. If he can pick and choose, why doesnt he just physically fight kylo, but when hes about to be hit just become visible only. Or make the fight more believable and actually use his lightsaber against kylo without injuring him (since its clear he thinks he can be redeemed and isnt trying to kill him)?

  12. Rian shows the force also manifests in a physical way multiple times (or is perceived as such, you decide). You ignoring that is analogous to the Titantic; I’m done responding. I’ve said this a thousand times now and you just ignore it.

(You not understanding why Luke doesn’t fight Kylo is why I don’t think you get the characters.)

I'm to high to read the current argument.

    Someone fill me in.

Man who doesn’t like film is trying to argue with people who’s discussed this film for almost two weeks and refuse to back down on his bad nitpicking.

I pointed out what i consider a plot hole, got called names, I was told my point of view was stupid etc. You know, exactly what is expected from this site when you have an opinion that differs from majority

Didn't realize I had to back down and agree with your opinion just bevause you think youre right. I havent been trying to change your opinion, just showing the reasons for my own opinion. Lol get over yourself, dont you have film school homework or something

  18. Again the issue is an “opinion” that ignores what the film shows you. If you ignore the film, it’s not a plot hole. It’s a stupid statement when you keep doing it.

People hide behind the word opinion too much.

No, it’s because it’s been explained to you several times in different ways and you refuse to acknowledge or let go of your dumb argument.

You keep saying that, when the film onlly shows evidence that backs up my point. All your explainations are in your head and not actually shown in the movie. Just your interpretation and what you think might be right.

  21. The film shows multiple times that the force can manifest physical to a person. Watch it again if you don’t think that’s true. It happens multiple times. It’s in the movie dude. He touches water. He touches Rey. To him he’s physically touching both. That’s a thing that happens via the force.

You pick if it actually happens or if they just think it does, but the movie sets this as possible and uses it again at the end.

And ive explained to you in different ways my point of view but you refuse to believe that its possible for a director to make a mistake. Which I think is dumb. Only difference is you resorted to name calling like a child, where as I have been responding respectfully lol

I think everyone's point about Kylo vs Luke is that Luke has no reason to physically fight him so it's kind of a non-issue. You've acknowledged that and also acknowledge that he's just trying to buy time. Why would he even risk his whole plan by putting himself there when what he ACTUALLY did in the movie worked out for him?

Yes, you're right, you have to make the assumption that he chose to make himself visible-only at that point in time, but is that even a huge deal?
