I just can’t wait until we get Season 4 of the Leftovers so we can see how Kevin ends up crossing over again and ends up searching for Nora in Canto Bight.

I kinda wish they explained why phasma was there at all. Last we heard she was dumped into a trash compactor on starkiller...I really tried to find the good, but there wasnt a lot. Its clear when they wrote TFA there was no general plot to follow throughout the trilogy, they are just winging it and it shows

Also might I add that I finally had a movie where I didn't enjoy BDT. Stutter sounded forced/fake and added no appeal to his character. I found myself hoping he wouldn't keep doing it.

I agree that it was a disappointment for me after how smooth and great TFA was, but it was a very entertaining film.

I’m willing to accept that the story didn’t work for “a large portion of twitter eggs.”

That’s about all I’m willing to accept.

The backstory of Phasma's steps after Starkiller base are out there in canon materials (I think maybe BFII as well). Phasma's motivation was not even remotely explained in this movie really, which was that Phasma wanted to wipe out all those who could pin the fall of Starkiller base on her, which meant Finn and co. After she escaped the compactor, she then sought out some ranked member of the first order who was the only one that could see it was Phasma that dropped the defenses. She killed him, and then framed him for it. But yeah, they don't touch on this at all in the movie. Or if they did, I totally missed it.

I totally enjoyed it! But I think sometimes pointing out flaws, continuity errors and the like means people are paying attention, and there's no fault in that.

I love that they took chances, and it definitely feels very unique in comparison to the other films. But, I don't think it's one of the best Star Wars films. I think the vast mixed opinions and criticisms are large enough in quantity that it's undeniable this movie is flawed and the story wasn't loved. Acting like half the world is wrong and our opinions are right because we create counterarguments for everything is silly.

Note about Holdo: I think she’s about to tell Poe her plan quite a few times, but he does something dumb to end the conversation. The second time he meets her they talk about hope being like the sun and then he throws a fit about the transports being fueled. She stops the guards and lets him go on a little and I believe would have told him if he didn’t end his fit by calling her a coward and a traitor and insulting her. Then in the hangar she says how terrible his plan with Rose and Finn is and he immediately commits the mutiny. Also when he gets to the bridge, C-3PO says Holdo wanted to talk to him which again I believe is about her plan. Her not telling Poe is more about him being an impulsive flyboy than her being a bad leader.

They were using fuel though to stay ahead of the First Order. This is said in the movie. So is the cloaking used for the small ships out of range and sight and radar of the big ones.

According to Facebook this movie is nothing but Leftist propaganda. I hate everything.

Regardless, I need to see it again.

Leftist propaganda is the last thing I would think of. Lol a different movie must have been shown for people who think that.

People our age have been taught that their own opinion doesn’t matter if someone else has an opinion that goes against it. They need validation by their peers to believe their own opinions.

as other people have said if you think that saying it's bad to pledge blind allegiance to a soul-sucking corporation/government the movie isn't the one with the problem

Just the fact that it’s being placed near the top in that category makes it a stinger for me. I know that the main reason it’s there is due to its massive opening weekend, but still. That category though.

What category? Big movies? From your article: It was only a 3 million difference drop from TFA.
That’s a $152 million drop. There are certain films that do so well on their first weekend that they fall off precipitously in week two to the tune of $100 million or more. Star Wars: The Force Awakens even dropped off by $149 million following its record-breaking opening weekend in 2015.

It’s probably not over anything deep either. Just the fact that there are 1) minorities in this film and 2) it criticizes corporations selling weapons is enough for brainlets to scream their favorite panic word: leftist.

The biggest week-to-week drop category. It will just add troll ammunition for people who are looking for anything to critique the film outside of their personal opinions.

  22. Why are you talking to those morons anyway? If anyone is making any argument about something like this, they're idiots. From Box Office Mojo:
The film, however, did drop 68% from its opening weekend, but that's not as much as a surprise as it may outwardly seem, particularly due to the lack of business over the weekend, especially on Christmas Eve, for all titles. The film is expected to top $100 million by end of day tomorrow, which is expected to be huge for most all films in release.
It'll have a huge Christmas, which is on a Monday this year. Big movies have big drops (Thor: 54%, Spider-Man: 60%) all the time.

It had a great second week in a week with other good new family movies and a weirdly placed holiday, it just also had the second best week of all time the first week.

Huge drops don’t mean that things aren’t a success

Like Taylor Swift’s new album sold 1.2+ million first week, and then 256k for the second week. Pretty huge drop, but that still was the number 1 album that week and bigger than most artists best sales week this year
