His timeline is dozens of tweets ranting about how outraged he is about Star Wars and World of Warcraft. Pretty much exactly the type of person I picture every time I see these types of tweets. Soooo oppressed by these controlling game developers and film producers :(

  5. Hannah and I opened Christmas presents early cause she's out of town for the holiday.

    So much Star Wars stuff.

Han Solo, R2D2, Porg, BB-8 Funkos. Rebellion: Rise of the Empire board game expansion pack, more Destiny cards.

Feeling one with the Force this morning. Haha.

Very nice! I got a whole mess of Destiny cards after playing it at Celebration. It's difficult to find someone willing to play thru a whole game though and I'm still not sure I've ever played with the proper rules.

I'm going to assume he misspoke and meant Return of the Jedi (third movie released).

  12. I've been reading lots of Star Wars content (including this thread), and a couple things are on my mind.

Anyone else intrigued by Finn's jack-of-all-trades role? He's battled with melee weapons (including Luke's freakin' original lightsaber), and as a former Stormtrooper, he's also comfortable with a blaster. That's pretty odd for a Star Wars protagonist. Even in Star Wars video games you usually have to choose - will my hero be a Jedi or a Han Solo? One reason Empire Strikes Back-era Luke is my favorite is because he exists in gray area, swinging a lightsaber at Darth Vader while keeping a blaster close at hand. He's still growing.

I wonder if Finn will evolve into either or these categories or keep fitting in where he's needed.

The Luke backlash is so stupid. I have issues with some plot stuff from The Last Jedi, but critics are rightfully praising Mark Hamill's performance and his role. The outraged fans are clearly ignoring that Luke has had plenty of problems with being a quitter and having a negative attitude. Yoda saw this firsthand:

He became more mature in Return of the Jedi, but he was still pretty naive. Clearly the traumatic conflict with his nephew broke Luke, and he's haunted by the blood that's on his hands. Why wouldn't he seclude himself, if he felt he'd done more harm than good? How could he face his sister and best friend, knowing he failed their son? He doesn't believe he deserves to be part of the larger universe anymore. I really like this article on Luke's wiser, better character:

Ah but I wish Luke wielded his green lightsaber at the end. That would have felt more full-circle.

I think you can see the set during the flashbacks. Still hard to see his lightsaber hilt, but it looks pretty similar minus the crossguard

My favorite part is that the pen is sitting in front of it on the table and some people thought the saber was a cross guard because of it.

Saw it last night, loved it. I'm not a giant fan who really dissects everything but am a casual fan I suppose. I think the Kylo Ren character is tremendous. Adam Driver is just perfect for the role and I love how he was used. Definitely the highlight of the movie for me. Poe and Rose I could do without however. Haven't read commentary from people since I just saw it but I do wonder how the majority feels about Rose. I really didn't enjoy her at all.

I haven’t really seen anyone mention this yet...

But Snoke clearly broke Rey and got her to talk. Kylo was there the whole time.

Is there any chance that Kylo goes to the island? The thing is, with Luke gone, I’m not sure why he would go/what he would do there.

Just saw it for the first time. It wasn’t perfect but it was pretty damn good. I don’t get the complaints about Luke, I understand even Mark is saying he didn’t like the way the character was this movie but I thought it made sense for what happened to him with Ben. I did think it was a little scattered at times, but didn’t find it hard to follow or anything.

Was kinda bummed the two ‘big mysteries’ of the first movie were kinda just brushed aside, but I didn’t let it ruin the movie for me.

I really loved Rose in her first scene when she zaps Finn. I don’t think she was written as well for the rest of it.

I feel like Snoke was never set up as a mystery. He was presented as a powerful bad guy and that’s exactly what he was.

Rey, they did seem to point to something going on there.... but I think almost all of those little “clues” still work.

Yeah ‘mystery’ is the wrong word, I just remember really wanting to know more about who he was and how he became powerful in the force and etc. They seem to be making this trilogy strictly about Rey and Kylo and their relationship with each other and the force and how that will effect the future of the jedi and the galaxy and etc so I guess I understand why they don’t feel the need to build on all that.

Second viewing earlier today was great.

I am in love with this film.

The “weakest” part, Canto Bight, is still fun and literally only ten minutes of the movie.

Also, I hate that I can’t watch Rey’s scene in the dark side cave without thinking of the music video for Sic Transit Gloria.
