  3. Yeah I am really curious where the story goes. It’s interesting that it is in three parts and not all put together and outlined first.

  4. Front of the line for round two yay.

Despite the swing of opinions and views on the movie, I have definitely noticed that this movie had way more memorable moments for me than TFA. I liked TFA and it did a great job of throwing me back into the Star Wars universe, but something about this movie just makes it seems SO much more vivid in my mind. So many of the scenes/shots/lines just grabbed me and makes me feel like I'm going to be thinking about them for quite a while...whereas The Force Awakens just felt like Star Wars, if that makes sense. I guess in my mind, this movie just stands on its own without relying so much on my existing love of the franchise.

I always thought it was one word, not two.

It worries me a little that it doesn't seem like everything was outlined. But, at the same time I like that the lack of a true outline probably gave Rian a lot of creative freedom here.

A painted poster of the hyperspace kamikaze cut through the star destroyers would be soooo awesome.

I just wish I liked the resistance plot threads. I felt almost nothing and was bored by them. Rewatching this one is gonna be hard for me just because its a long film and much of its run time is spent on that.

  13. That, some of the Luke and skyline shots.

I have never heard of that word being offensive, mostly because I never use it and didn't put much thought into my word choice this time. But thinking about what the word actually is I realise the connotations you guys are referring to and will take back the use of the word. I don't mind admitting when I'm wrong

Stick by the rest of the post, there were plenty aspects of the movie I enjoyed but I'm not enjoying the type of debate it's turned into on the internet so not gonna bother.

Other than on the topic, this has by far the best looking shots in any Star Wars film. It looks spectacular in certain scenes and Crait is definitely my favourite looking planet.

so was Yodas burning of the tree, knowing that Rey has the books, solely to spite and troll Luke??

he was being the little shit he was when he lived in the swamp as opposed to the Bernie Sanders version of him in the prequels

Welp. Told my coworker I was going to see this tonight and he told me that it was the worst Star Wars movie ever made and said that the people who liked it were "retarded" after I told him a lot of smart people with respectable opinions liked it a lot. He then went through the IMBD viewer ratings to 'prove a point'. Leave it to overzealous fanboys to cast a shadow on my future viewing.
