Oh I know that. I just have a genuine disdain for brand new, to the point where I wish they never made music. But I'll accept that it's an extremely unpopular opinion lol.

I can't even think of another band I wish never made music. Attack! Attack! is up there.

So tell me something awesome Supporter

So all of the positive impacts they have made on countless people's lives, you would take away so that you don't have memory of them making music?

Not liking a band is something but that's pretty obnoxious and contrarian for the sake of sadism. Very easy to ignore music you dislike if you try. I have a GREAT distaste for Manchester Orchestra but would never wish for their music to not exist, because it matters to people.

Also yeah YFW and TAYF are similarly bad albums but Brand New at least released something good later while TBS never did.

We all probably wouldn't be here if it weren't for those albums.

WYWTB is better than both YFW and Daisy and most of the albums those bands were compared to during that time. It's a solid rock record

I really like the first song on WYWTB but not much else. I'd definitely rather listen to it than YFW or Deja though.

"Spent the night lit listening to Miles Davis..." is a line on the album and you don't automatically love it?

I may have said this before but I do not like Grimes. I haven't heard one song that I liked and I listened to a lot of them.

Christ, yeah, this one too. I get this as well due to the fact that I prefer to own music on a physical medium, CD's. Because, of course, not using MP3's exclusively to own music and nothing else makes you snobbish and pretentious, apparently.

Also yeah, side note, Social Repose is complete garbage.

I like all of the TBS albums. I like some of them less than I used to (TAYF and LN) but I still like them. Never understood the "too bad they never got better than TAYF." They did get better, they just pursued different musical styles. I could never imagine TBS releasing an album like the Devil and God. It would be so weird.

They're a rock and roll band, as evident by some their influences that they speak quite a bit about. Outside of the original members and the Nolan/Lacey back and forth on those first records, they aren't really tied to each other. Two completely different bands that went in completely different directions, and I think it worked for both parties.

EDM is something I never could get that into, but I think it does a lot of good.

I have a friend who has trouble staying focused on things, like it was a big part of his childhood and lead to a lot of anxiety and stress for him. He said growing up he could never follow a whole song and pay attention to the lyrics at the same time and he always felt weird about it and never really got into music.

When he discovered EDM he said it really clicked with him and now he goes to their shows and festivals all the time and seems to have a blast. He told me it's just the only thing that made sense to him or sucked him in and the other people in the scene never made him feel excluded like his friends did who listen to rock/rap. So in that sense I think EDM does a lot of good.

I need to learn to make my posts shorter

sounds about right. a lot of people think EDM has no substance, such as no "meaningful lyrics" or what not, but you can still enjoy it for what it is. still invokes kind of emotion/vibe like all genres of music. i think the scene and edm scene have a lot of in common, both are accepting to all types of people. every EDM festival or show i've attended, i always dance with strangers of all ages and it's always a blast.

I may be rescinding an unpopular opinion of mine. I have been indifferent to Radiohead for a long time. I've tried listening to OK Computer and Kid A multiple times and I've just never been able to enjoy them to the point where I haven't been able to finish either album. But I'm falling head over heels in love with A Moon Shaped Pool right now. Maybe this will be an entry point into falling in love with their earlier albums.
