  1. He was so powerful ... and he went out so easily. Haha.

Second viewing confirms everything I thought and said after the first one — kind of disappointed overall. Oh well, the Luke, Rey, and Kylo portions are so good.

Before I saw the movie I really didn’t wanna see Kylo turn to the light in any capacity, I couldn’t believe how excited I was when that happened though.

The part in the beginning where Poe tells Finn he must have a thousand questions and he just asks “Where’s Rey?” was perfect. From the sound, shot, delivery of the line, cut to the next scene.

When the score starts as Rey begins practicing with the lightsaber was another highlight.

For any avatar fans out there when Rey cuts the boulder and falls on the caretakers wagon my first thought was:

I laughed so hard at that scene. I enjoyed that kind of stupid humor. Not the "luke brushes his shoulder off" kind of humor.

  8. Loved it.

yeah I honestly loved all the humor. Poe messing with Hux, the caretakers, Luke in general, etc.

I think the Poe/Hux scene went on an exchange too long, it was so funny, then they did it like 3 more times lol, but it was still a refreshing and surprising way to start off the movie.

When that one scene started (you know the one), I was like, "Wait, does that thing have nipples?"

Little did I know what I'd learn not one minute later.

It was pretty reminiscent of Ragnarok, coming right out of the gate with some humor to give you an idea of what to expect.

A moment where I laughed where nobody else did was when first Luke says to rey everything you just said was wrong, then when he said the same thing again to Kylo on Crait. I laughed that second time but nobody else did. was that just me lol?

I feel like that’s the only way he could have gone out. No way either of them could have taken him in a battle

Had a chance to see this today because the theater somehow wasn't sold out for all of the showings. I really enjoyed it. I have so many thoughts on it, but I also feel like I need to just sit with it for a day or so haha.

But a few of the main things I enjoyed: Poe's character development (and the fact we got to see more of him), the humor since it landed well for me, and all of the various characters relationships we got to see.

  16. That is probably true. And he woulda looked really weird in a "battle" anyway.

Best humor spot for me was when Rey reached out her hand, haha.

  19. The more I think about it, the more I realize that without the casino scene / detour, this was very good. It just ruins so much of the storyline/flow/is too long. And that entire arc coulda been done so much better. It really is just that segment that I dislike. The rest, there's so much great stuff there, it almost feels tonally different. Like they didn't know what to do with Finn, so this is what they came up with.

A lot of the humor was met with silence in my theater. It started to get pretty awkward after the 15th time it happened.

i can understand and respect a lot of people's gripes with the movie, mainly because i have a bunch of my own. but if your take is this is worse than any of the prequels you're wrong. it's ok to have an opinion, it's just a wrong opinion.
