So do we think the blue saber Kylo had in the flashbacks of Luke's academy was Anakin's lightsaber or just a blue blade? Because if so the "that lightsaber belongs to me" line in TFA just got even better.

 

I loved the score more than TFA. The March of the Resistance was used so damn well and really added a lot for me to those battles. Especially that fight on Crait. Definitely noticed a lot more. Something I wanted that was unfair of me was to want what Imperial March did for Empire. I was hoping we were going to get something like that in this. SOmething for Snoke specifically.

I still loved it though

 

One moment I enjoyed and I think others may have enjoyed is when Rey is reaching out and Luke goes "do you feel that?" and she's all excited going "yes yes! I can feel it!" and he goes "that's the force." and then hits her with the long piece of grass. I thought that was perfect.

 

I think they are leaving prequel explanations out.

 

mentioned it earlier, but the Binary Suns and Endor themes were present in the third act. And motifs from Rey's theme were scattered all throughout, which is good because I love that piece.

 

The lightsaber breaking was also very good.

 

I was looking at the hilt and it honestly looked like Ben Kenobi's saber.

 

Yes! The part about the Force "belonging to someone" being vanity and that the Jedi were "romanticized and deified" represents everything I wanted to see happen with the Jedi Order.

 

I actually thought it looked kind of similar to his crossguard saber personally. I'm really hoping he took his lightsaber and poorly modified it into the crossguard saber.

 

Yeah, Star Wars is definitely not high art, but the tone of some of the jokes felt very weird. The part where Luke was walking around the island trying to be as unappealing to Rey as possible made me think of this and I really hated it:

 

an interesting question, we know Maz had lukes saber but we don't know what happened to it between ESB and TFA.

I think when he says that line in TFA though, he is implying ownership in a lineage sense, like, it's been passed down and he is the rightful heir to it now, like Snoke says he is the rightful heir to Vader.

 

The quote about the sign of the rebellion I thought was also really good.

That said, why didn't any allies come to their distress call?

 

The RT viewer rating is down to 57%. That’s much lower than I would rate it. This film has definitely divided some fans. I didn’t like it as much as TFA but it’s better than the prequel films for sure.

 

The RT page is getting brigaded by online idiots.

Could this hurt Johnson's trilogy? It currently has a 57% audience score and i'm sure Disney will look into how the movie is received by audiences and not just critics. Having his name attached as writer and director for the trilogy could lower the audience excitement for the trilogy due to how many people seem to not dig this film.
