A lot I liked and even loved. But boy, a lot I didn’t either — kind of disappointed, to be honest.

Everything with Rey and Kylo and Luke was awesome ( especially the visualization of the dark side) or didn’t bother me.

Really didn’t care for most of Finn’s ( and Rose’s) story. WTF was up with Del Toro? Yikes. Some very clunky dialogue/writing/takes at times and very poor editing as well. Also, I get what they were going for and why, but really hate that Snoke is gone already.

Kinda seems like I hated it, but the parts that were good were SO good that it redeemed it enough for me.

Also, if George Lucas did some of the things that were in this we would be crucifying him.

The more I think about it, the less I like it.

Really mixed feelings. Way more action and less depth that I expected.

It felt more like a movie for kids than TFA did.

It also felt super strange in terms of being part 2 of a trilogy. Had much more in common with a 3rd.

it feels like the chess board was wiped clean and JJ has to write from scratch just with the premise of rey vs kylo

I totally got this vibe as well!

I'll be honest and a bit corny, but this movie made me wish I was 8/9 again having lightsaber battles with my brother. This movie just gave me that feeling ha.

Kylo and Rey were my favorite aspects of the movie for sure.

Man, that scene where Kylo kills Snoke and he fights the guards with Rey was so badass — will probably be thinking about that part for awhile. Pretty much what I was expecting and wanting from a Rian Johnson Star Wars film and then there was all the other stuff, bleh.

Only issue I have was that really weird Leia floating scene, everything else I adored.

I will agree on that highlight. Amazing scene. Another one was realizing that Luke isn’t even there

I was so surprised that they got to the throne room in the middle; def expected for that to be the climax

Really enjoyed this but I'l concede the Leia floating scene was real weird. Also, I am all in on porgs.

The divisiveness is honestly crazy. This thread is more of a roller coaster ride than the movie.

Carrie was so much better in this than TFA.

I think this would’ve been so much more palatable if it weren’t for the constant bad jokes. I get this is now a thing in Marvel/Disney movies but it just always seems worse to me with each movie. I was annoyed and just wanted the movie over after an hour and a half.

    Pros:
    Yoda scene
    Every scene with Kylo
Every scene with Rey and Luke together
    Rose
Poe and Finn were more enjoyable
The “Touch Of Zen” inspired death of Luke.

    Cons:
    A lot of the humor
    Leia floating through space
The entire subplot that Finn and Rose went on (nothing was accomplished from it and removing it would have not changed the film at all)
Luke creating an illusion of himself. Where did that even come from?

What I want more after this film
More Kylo and Rey teaming up because that scene was awesome

I don’t trust people who think this is better than Empire Strikes Back.

    allllright, here we go;

the leia flying scene is a top 5 worst moment in any SW movie.

wasnt let down at all by rey being a nobody. was actually hoping for it. we all just kept assuming she was a skywalker or a kenobi and thats why youre let down, you bought too into the misdirection of TFA.

visually the best SW movie ever made, R1 being second.

how is snoke that smart and powerful but he didnt realize what kylo was doing? i dont buy it. that was dumb.

the humor was a bit forced, luke brushing off his shoulder made my theater erupt in laughter but i cringed.

the acting, especially rey and kylo, was top notch. performances not soon to be forgotten.

i'm very glad im seeing it again saturday, there was SO much going on, this will require a few viewings to really get my full feeling and appreciation level. not ready yet to call it great, wonderful, bad, or meh. not even ready to rank it within the other movies yet.

6.5/10 is the initial rating but i don't see it going lower, i think i will like it more the next time.
