Honestly, I think the best way to respond is to detach it from that moral framework, ie, framing it in medical terms and treating it as one would any other procedure that one wants to engage in to make their lives better. Framing it the other way concedes that there is a moral choice being made and that it should be rare. We don’t care about how many get abortions, we want to maximize their ability to do so if they so choose.

Hmm I didn't mean it that way so I'm not sure how my post was interpreted :/ I said that merely because the procedure itself isn't easy or simple, much like having to deal with doctors and health-related stuff generally isn't, haha. It's traumatic for a lot of people and it comes with a lot of pain (physical and emotional). That's not necessarily about the morality of the procedure - the right-wing make it that way by calling themselves "pro life" (which stands contradictory to all their other positions) and us "pro abortion" like we think "abortions are cool and i love it when they happen", when it's really about them being anti-choice and us being pro-choice. i know i've said this before but i had the convo w my mum and i was like "do you really think people are just going out and having abortions for fun?" and she actually laughed. basically, using their own exaggeration against them.
