Yeah that's what its looking like, but the ones that are positive are saying things about how inventive some of the things he's doing is, so while it may have the same RT score it will probably end up being considered one of the best. Someone's always going to say they don't like the movie lol

'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' review - CNN

Yet if "The Empire Strikes Back" stands as the defining chapter in the "Star Wars" saga, as second movies go, "Last Jedi" ranks closer to the "Attack of the Clones" end of the gene pool.

Good Lord lollll what a sentence! I dont trust it though at all bc theres no way and Clones is lower than garbage.

    and a millions screams...

I can't believe Variety put that spoiler in its article in what was clearly trying to be a non-spoiler review. It doesn't even serve a point to the review.

No chance in hell imo, the Metascore for this thing right now is 86... that’s REALLY high. A lot of 100/100 reviews.

I think the RT score isn’t showing the full picture because a lot of the positive reviews are much more effusive than they were for TFA. It seems like this is a very different kind of movie.

Im beyond excited at the prospect of it being a very different SW movie. I think that was alot more necessary than most realize.

It’s funny how just as many people say it’s fast paced as slow paced. Guess it’s in the eye of the beholder.

I think it’s interesting that nearly every review critiques pacing issues and the subplots somewhat, and yet it seems like the main plot lines are so compelling that for most critics it doesn’t detract much in the big picture of the movie. That, to me, signals that the main story must be really compelling.

Apparently even something objective like how many lightsaber duels are present in the film is also a point of contention among those who have seen the film lmao

I'm 100% here for a (partially) slower paced film. I love TFA but they don't give it a moment to rest on a scene.

YO even if it's just a reference to a leak, if it's something that may be sensitive please use spoiler tags in here. It's not that hard.

Well the official and critical reactions have been glowingly positive

then I get on the reddit master leak thread where people have allegedly either seen or read the whole TLJ plot and theres droves of people talking about how they hate it and its worse than the prequels.

Cant make this shit up lol. Rian or somebody else close to the production did say it would be polarizing.

Well this is interesting....I carelessly went ahead and started reading spoilers. A lot of them from different sources. The thing is, I read like 4 different takes on the movie and clearly read some lies. But I don't know which ones. So, this is kind of great! I'm going in with the spoilers but still get surprised!

I saw that thread earlier... it definitely seems like some aspects are gonna piss off some segments of the fanbase.

Any time you’re dealing with Jedi / force lore you’re not going to be able to please every fan.

Just playing it super safe but one review said regarding the force: they introduce some new powers that'll be polarizing. Interested to see where they go with it. Maybe they'll go all out and introduce time travel or something lol.

The only times I see 3D films are when 1) it's 3D at the Theater I used to work at and go for free or 2) someone else like my mom, or girlfriend bought the ticket.

I'll avoid 3D at all costs if I can.
