1. Nice to see Krallice on there
2. More Royal Thunder love is good
3. That Electric Wizard album art is so bad
4. Also cool to see Pyrrhon get a mention
5. Did they actually listen to the Morbid Angel album? Like, I get it as a sort of redemption for their previous disaster of an album, but there is nothing special about it in the least.

 

Folks what exactly were your expectations for a metal list from Rolling Stone in the year 2017?

wow, completely missed that Darkest Hour and Warbringer are gonna be here on Friday. DH cancelled the day before the last time because of inclement weather. My wife is out of town and I have no plans that night. I should probably go, right?

 

If Darkest Hour is still playing Marching to the Killing Rhythm live like they were on their tour earlier this year, I'd be there in a heartbeat. Warbringer and Exmortus are nice pluses on top of that.

 

I saw DH back in March and they were as good as ever. Still bummed I missed the openers though (Ringworm, Tombs, Rivers of Nihil)

So what metal albums coming out next year is everyone excited for?

My list of the top of my head:
-Genocide Pact
-Mammoth Grinder
-Horrendous
-Khemmis

I know I'm missing quite a few releases...so HALP.

 

Summoning, Sulphur Aeon, Tribulation, Mgla (?), Slough Feg, Obscura, Coroner...

Other big names like Immortal, Judas Priest, Alice in Chains that I'm not necessarily looking forward to but intrigued by.

Also I say this every year but TOOOOLLL

 

If that Instagram of Cave In was recording then that is auto number 1, but uhhhh, Mammoth Grinder so far. Have no clue what else is supposed to come out. I’m guessing we’ll see new Oathbreaker, and like every year, I will pray that Iron Age puts out a release

 

I’m not that sure who’s due to be releasing stuff in the next year but of the ones I know are definitely coming I’m stoked on hearing the new Palm Reader, Corrosion of Conformity, Machine Head and Feed The Rhino.

As for albums I think we’re probably due I’m well up for new Baroness and Parkway Drive.

And as always I’d be well up for Tool and Deftones to drop new material but they’re both longshots.

REALLY hope I can swing the Zao/Living Sacrifice show tomorrow. I've been to a lot lately, and have more coming up, but this seems like one I shouldn't miss.

 

I might be the only one here who still listens to them, but new TesseracT music coming. Hopefully sooner rather than later!

 

So I see Pallbearer making a lot of lists. I've never listened to them and I'm going though Heartless for a second time right now. Seems pretty good, although not AOTY worthy by any means. Question to those who have always listened to them, what has their sonic progression been like? I've read that they've become a lot softer over the years but I'm curious as to what regular listeners of theirs think.
