Has anyone tried the yuzu hot sauce from tj’s? Keep almost pulling the trigger on it but it’s a little pricey

I got it in my Fuego Box this month and I LOVE it.

 

Ooooo! I may need to try it. There's a mexican restaurant chain around here called Betos, and they have the best homemade green sauce! But sometimes they don't give me enough when I go through the drive thru and it ruins my life, so I need a good (equally delicious) backup, haha.

 

Got a bottle of secret aardvark because of the show and was not disappointed. Put it over a things of hash and eggs from Waffle House and it was muy bueno.

I keep a bottle of Crystal in my office at work so I always have some on hand. Could do it myself as well.

 

Crystals on Red Beans and Rice is amazing.

I'm not familiar with the hot sauce game. I just want to state my appreciation for Tapatio. I always keep a bottle in the house because it works on everything.

 

This is real talk. I used it on turkey for Thanksgiving, it was night and day. Also fantastic for mac and cheese.

 

Dying to try some Secret Aardvark. Ever since I saw it introduced on the new season of Hot Ones and Jason's holiday rec's just made me think of getting some again. near impossible to find in UK.

 

How long does hot sauce generally keep once opened? My fear with getting into hot sauce is that I'll acquire too many bottles and they'll all go bad before I can make a dent in them haha.

 

For so long, haha. Just keep like 3 at once.

 

Because it's loaded with salt and vinegar most of the time, hot sauce keeps surprisingly long. In fact, I think the shortest shelf-life I've ever seen on one was still at least a full year. Some can last more than two years. And you don't have to refrigerate them all, either. Any sauce that has fruit in it or vegetables other than just peppers, or just if the bottle doesn't say "Refrigerate After Opening," it's actually safe to store in a cool dry place if you want.

I have a ton of bottles both open and unopened, but I also use a lot too. I think @Mr. Serotonin is right to suggest around 3 at once if you're just a casual hot sauce fan.
