Decided a couple weeks ago I'm selling mine and giving the proceeds to a charity like RAINN. I suggest to anyone here who wants to get rid of theirs to do the same. I think its more productive than burning it or throwing it in the trash like some were thinking.

I’m selling mine too. Are you selling it for what you paid for it or more? I’ve gotten a few offers that were basically “let me know how much you want for it and I’ll buy it” so I’m torn.

FUCK. So last night, my son who is 3-years-old, was BEGGING me to turn the record player on. He's starting to become very obsessed with my record player and records. He typically just picks records based on how colorful and/or thick they are (easier to see for a 3-year-old, obviously) and last night he pointed toward Deja and said 'I want to listen to the alien space record' and it was honestly heartbreaking. If this would have happened four months ago, it would have been such a proud dad moment.

I told him, 'no buddy, let's pick another record' and he got so mad, but we ended up going with Weezer's Blue Album.

I mean, if you're offended by it to the point of not letting a 3 year old listen to it, why do you still have it

Maybe he just hasn't made a final decision on what to do with it?

I don't know when I'll come to a final decision, but I've fluctuated so much that I know it's not happening soon. I'd say to store it somewhere else for a while @ncarrab. Out of sight and out of mind is good for this season.

Edit: That first sentence/question reads snarky. It's not intended to be.

I must be way more decisive by nature than 99% of the population

The way this whole situation has just internally gestated and marinated over and over again for some fans on this site boggles the mind

Have a problem with the band? Burn the album. Set it ablaze. Turn it into a cathartic family bonfire. But for your own sanity's sake quit pissing and moaning over how to feel about shit. You already know how you feel about shit, do something about it.

I'm willing to bet there's more important things ie a 3-year old child than finding the time to decide whether or not to sell a record and donate the money, give it away or throw it away. It was just a situation where he seemed to be reminded of the fact he owned it.

Watch out. By being undecided you’re part of the “pissing and moaning” culture.

Whilst I’m not going out of my way to listen, in the coming months etc. I may decide to listen based on ‘nostalgia’ for lack of a better word. I fully respect those who decide not to listen.
I used to wear my shirts fairly frequently, but now they haven’t been worn once since. I don’t want to burn all ties to the band based on what their music and the experiences that came along with it have meant.
I’m definitely not in the ‘Jesse is Innocent’ camp however.

Not that I care either way.
I'll open it up and look through out of curiosity and then push it into the shelf, its ultimate fate tbd.

My kids aren't to that age yet, but last week I took my BN records and my Pinegrove records, boxed them up, and put them in the basement. Their fate is still undecided.
