Is that a thing?! Earliest I've seen around here is 7 Thursday.

 

I'm tempering my expectations for a Luke/Leia scene only because they shot this movie assuming she would be in episode 9 as well. I have a feeling there is a real chance we won't see them on screen together in this, and it's a major bummer, but nothing I can fault them for not knowing she would pass so unexpectedly.

 

Yeah, and Leia reportedly had an even bigger part in 9 so I think its likely not gonna happen. and nothing Id blame them for nor would it detract from the movie. More of a best case scenario thing I just wish would happen

 

EDIT: I am recalling in the days after Carrie's passing, Kathleen Kennedy in an interview did say there were (2) pivotal Leia scenes, one was a Luke/Leia reunion and one was a Leia/Kylo scene. She confirmed the Leia/Kylo scene was to be in Ep9, so that will never come to be which sucks, but she didn't say if the Luke/Leia scene was shot already and will be in this episode.

 

Force ghost Liam Neeson

 

I’m not sure if they could pull off force ghosts in 2017 without it seeming laughably cheesy. There’s also so many characters in this I’m not sure if there’s room to bring back more old ones.

 

Worked for 6 years at a single screen IMAX theater, lots of dear friends still there.

5. Some explanation of how powerful Snoke is and his origin

6. Kyle Ren massacre flash back

7. No Maz Kanata

8. Minimal force ghosts hopefully maybe since Luke abandons their vanilla teachings

9. Good resistance air battles

10. Leias arc to make sense

 

Based on what I read in the entertainment weekly article about finn and rose's storyline, you might get some underworld crimey stuff with where they go off to. Also I'm pretty sure Maz is in this. And for god sake no force ghosts.

NICE! Had a similar hook up years ago, wish they were still there ha. That's gonna be so awesome.

I would think Jedi since Qui Gon is the one that figured out and showed Yoda and Obi Wan. But then how did Anakin figure it out? (Those pesky prequel inconsistencies).

 

We used to have awesome employee screenings (mandated because someone told a mother the CGI Beowulf film wasn't scary and apparently her kid had nightmares) where the entire company would come. Now it's really just test screenings and there's only a few people there. I feel like an old man saying this, but I feel like I can really see the decline of a love not for movies, but the environment of a theater/cinema.

I bought my tickets out of pocket a while back for 7:00 Thursday, but a friend and I are gonna have a moviepass competition on who can see VIII the most. I saw VII I think six times in theaters.

 

You can only see a movie once with MoviePass I believe.

Anyway, for those who’ve seen interviews and stuff, who wants to play a dumb guessing game of what the opening line of the movie is based on the first two confirmed words?

“We’re not”.

So...if we cut right down to the island,if it’s Luke, it might be “We’re not doing this.”

Or if it cuts to the resistance base getting attacked first, which it might, it could be anything like “We’re not getting a signal from so and so...”

 

Oh I know for sure the first line of the movie will be:

Luke saying "I don't understand, her midichlorian count is off the charts!"

 

I don’t want to know the first words.... ummmm bye!

I got mine late August so they must have changed that, I swear it was one time per movie. Great news then.
