Speaking strictly in terms of electoral politics, this issue will persist, so long as liberals internalize the racist logic that white voters matter more. Black and brown folks are demanding structural change and that they’re ignored on the basis of “the possible” is indicative of the extent to which they’re seen as lesser political actors. Let white voters go. Organize black and brown folks, in and outside of the political apparatus, and there’s actually a chance that we may have a future. Anything other than that isn’t going to work and we will be trapped within these dynamics of right and center right in perpetuity.

 

Anchors, moguls, politicians: the growing list of accused

 

On a national scale politicians prioritize the largest segment of voters, liberals and democrats by and large are demanding structural change as well ... and the candidates have run on these policies. They lost. Making an argument centered around economics and fighting for the people reaches the largest swath of people. Voter disenfranchisement and gerrymandering makes it very difficult for it to turn elections.

And, with the estate tax repeal, keeping that obscene wealth in those families to create a permeant oligarchy in the United States. While those that literally put Trump in office ... suffer even more. It's a good scam they got going.

I’m not saying that we need to ditch working class policy. The basis of white supremacy is an economic division of labor from which a culture of brutality arose. The connective tissue is there to craft an argument that addresses a wide swath of the population; however, that also requires ridding ourselves of the white voter as the baseline for all assessments of drawing up a campaign as well. So, let that go, and divise a new working-class campaign that actually does build from the bottom up, rather than top-down. We can talk about gerrymandering and voter disenfranchisement, but that’s part and parcel of an cultural/economic agenda that enshrines the racial division of labor of which I spoke - division of labor that immiserates workers on all sides.
