The "a" in Notes still makes me cringe every single time

I like how the ‘a’ looks tbh. Just hate the inconsistency

 

I use Reminders because I like being able to type them straight into my calendar and I find it a more effective integration with than Todoist which is the app I currently use (though I might have to seek out a better option)

 

I need some help if anyone here has some insight.

My iPhone X is scheduled to arrive today. Until recently, I was using the beta program. I left it because since the 11.0 beta it has been making my iPhone 6 impossible to use. I haven’t caught up to the public iOS releases yet so I’m still on 11.2. How am I going to to restore my backup when I set up my new phone? In the past when I have had to restore my phone while on the beta program I had to set up the phone without restoring the backup, join the beta program, and then restore the backup. Is there another way to do it?

I have the latest software on then 6 and have mostly no issues. I does seem buggier than before though and I’m not sure if it’s because my phone doesn’t have the computing power to do everything smothly. The weirdest thing is if I pick up and unlock my phone and it’s laying so it thinks you want it in landscape mode and then realizes you want to be in portrait it will sometimes rotate my wall paper and the only way to get it to the correct orientation is to lock the phone and unlock it and it fixed itself. I’ve also had something similar happen with iMessage.

 

I've been having an issue with my 8+ lately that when I first use it in the morning, it sometimes gets stuck in a restart cycle

 

Okay but my issue is that because my current phone has the beta software I don’t think I will be able to restore the backup to my new phone because you can’t restore a backup of a beta to a phone that is running an earlier version of iOS than the backup.

Have you ever written at any length about your workflow for Saver / Finance Software in general? If not, I would love to hear it when you have some time! I am attempting to begin using Saver as my go-to finance app, but I am struggling to keep up with entering transactions manually.

Not yet. If it persists I'm going to. It started doing this right after the latest update it seems.

 

I don't think I have, but the basics are that I use Mint to track everything and I use Saver basically for tracking specific budgets. So I break out "shopping" and "food" for example, and I know what I want to spend on food per week and shopping (broad) per month. I keep the categories small and then use tags inside to break down so I know what they are (ie. Food > Coffee/Beer/Groceries/Eating Out), and then I find it easier to quickly enter items when I go shopping or we eat out. Then I evaluate the budget every week on Saturday morning (before going to the grocery store) to see where we didn't do as well as I wanted to, or where mistakes were made, and I check the app before we go out to eat to get an idea of what we should spend to stay within budget.

Do I basically have to give someone control of my computer for someone to exploit this loophole?

 

I’ll never understand why someone who discovered that sort of hack would want to tweet that out to the world. Just contact Apple.

 

I think I'm going to wait on a deal on the iPhone 8 since my 7 died. I'm currently using my father-in-law's old 6s which is practically brand new and totally fine. It's only 16gb though so I couldn't restore from my backup. I'm pretty sure there will be deals in December for an 8. I may try to go with a 64gb instead of 256. I'm going to have to have my wife backup her phone to her Mac, erase her phone, then let me restore my 80gb or so backup from my PC to her phone, then let me trim some of that down below 64gb(photos and videos, man), let me back THAT up, then restore my new phone with that backup and she can restore from her Mac......

I think that will work? I don't see the need for me to have 256gb. It's overkill. I can save $100. I don't want to jump into a X right now. Maybe on the "Xs" once they have refined it a bit.

 

It was extremely irresponsible disclosure.

 

Probably wanting to give everyone a heads up and put more pressure on Apple to fix it.

 

I feel like there are already deals on the 8 I’ve heard in ads.
