Got my thoughts all typed up and ready for 8pm est. I thought them up so hard.

 

With Session 1 coming to an end and everyone posting/talking about their thoughts for the next two days starting in just a few hours, I figured Now was as good a time as any to post Session 2’s pairings. Thoughts on these ones will start on Friday, Dec 1, so finish up your session 1 posts and then get with your next partner to discuss trades. If you have a repeat partner, you can either trade New albums or let me know and I’ll find someone to trade you guys with.

Are we necessarily picking two albums or is it either one or two, our choice? Also are we doing the thing where it’s one 2017 album and one album from whenever? And once we’ve listened to the albums, all opinions are posted in this thread, correct? Sorry I could probably find the answers but I don’t really wanna read through 10+ pages haha

Time period is a cool idea but up to you.

Once you’ve listened starting on Friday you post your thoughts and we’ll talk about them through the coming days while the next session is sorted out

I wish! Too much work right now to sit down and do that much listening. Maybe I'll jump in when things quiet down.

 

These are my session #1 thoughts on the recommendations my partner @AlwaysEvolving21 gave me. I had a lot of fun this week swapping recs and chatting about them in DMs.


Nada Surf-The Weight is a Gift
I really really enjoyed this album, from the opening track it was just full of catchy, gripping and groovy rifts. The album is just jam after jam and a great spin front to back, have a strong feeling this will be a spring/summer staple for me in 2018. Talked to @AlwaysEvolving21 after spinning in on his recommendation I checked out Let It Go, Lucky and The Proximity Effect as well. This is a fantastic band I will be listening to a lot of from here on out.


Bad Religion- The Gray Race
I have listened to Bad Religion a lot over the years but somehow, I had never heard this one, to the best of my knowledge/memory at least! I’m so glad this was recommended because I absolutely loved it, I think I listened to it 5 times in a row while gaming. It was a great record to game to.

Figure It Out - Two EPs: Nothing To Lose and Silence Isn’t Golden
This is a very small local pop-punk band from AZ, there music took a bit of work to find. After a technical difficulty with Spotify where the albums refused to play. I wrote down the track lists and found them all as audio streams on the bands YouTube page. Really just fun and enjoyable pop-punk music, nothing ground breaking by any means by the singer has a voice really well suited for pop-punk and they did it well. Pretty cool that they have a guest feature by Beau Boken of blessthefall.

 

Funny you say that about The Gray Race, Ten in 2010 was featured in Crazy Taxi.
