Yeah it’s so weird, the biggest argument they use is ‘but it’s a tradition for the children’. A, because it’s a tradition that don’t make it right and less racist and B, the children don’t give a single ounce of a fuck. They just want candy and presents. Some cities are changing it up from Zwarte Piet to white Spanish noblemen. Which is a problem for some of the pro-zwarte piet idiots, because they say now they’re being discriminated against. Which is insane, but those people are hard to reason with. They will never understand why blackface is never a good idea.

Hmmm. Part of me wants to say Alkmaar, but I think that might be where my ex is from and I’m getting the two mixed up lol. I’m not entirely sure.

Edit: my ex is def from Alkmaar and my grandparents from Rotterdam or Friesland

 

Those place are relatively close to where i live, because when a country is this tiny, everything is close. Amsterdam is only an hour and a half away, and that’s the other side of the country.

That's amazing!on Tuesday we stopped after 1 hour then went another 1.5 hours then went 1 more hour. Took us 7 hours to get half way though what's supposed to be an 8 or 9 hour drive.
