Real talk, that Charli XCX song should have been the biggest song in the world.

The chorus of that song gave me HUGE vibes of another song and I can't for the life of me figure out what it is. But it's reminding me of something else big time.

Omg. That was a 2hr+ meeting. Thank god one of my coworkers brought in her baby son into the meeting cause he was entertaining to watch until he fell asleep. Half of the time I was thinking about having a podcast where I was interviewing Taylor Swift. Now I get too listen to the new James Blake everyone is raging about.

I listen to music all day every day, but I only really listen to stuff I absolutely love. I can appreciate things I just consider "good" but I'll rarely go out of my way to listen multiple times to things I'm not in love with. That kind of limits how much stuff I listen to. I wish I was able to care about every release like a lot of people.

I've listened to every album in their discography at least twice at very different times in my life trying to see if it worked for me. So it's not like I dismissed them lightly. I do remember really liked "House of Cards" on In Rainbows.

See, growing up, I never heard Creep on alt radio and that's all my dad really listened to. That's why I was super confused when I got older and it was this eponymous song that everyone seemed to know.

Basically, this. Trying to keep up with what I'm told is good versus what I'm actually finding interesting/worth listening to -- and I'm giving it way more of an honest try in 2016 than I have in many years -- just isn't paying off like it used to. Every album I've actually wanted to revisit thus far in 2016, barring one or two, is from a band or artist I've enjoyed for over five years or longer in some capacity.

I always discover new music too late anyway. I'll listen to current output of my favorite artists, but it seems like anytime I find something new it's like an album from two years ago or something. I'm always playing catch up.

Peruse the album threads in the music forum and youtube a song from the band/artist. Normally it just takes a song for me to see if I have any interest in it.

Unless there's deliveries/customer visits at my job I have 8-10 hours a day with headphones or computer speakers. The only reason I fall behind in music is if I listen to mostly podcasts for a week or so. But otherwise I always have something playing until I go home.

I'm not really a big Radiohead fan by any means kinda like other people have already mentioned, so with this new release I feel kinda obligated to keep up with everyone and everything going on in music even though I'm not really that interested. This happens somewhat often with me.

Edit: THere's also tons of stuff I have never listened to before. Like James Blake. I've only listened to his work this past year. So sometimes when an artist or a big artist releases something and already has a big catalogue I'm anxious to start listening cause I feel like I need to at least listen to some of their older stuff.

It takes me several listens to get into a new artist and I don't have that much time to listen

I only really listen to music in my car, And a lot of the time I'd rather listen to podcasts

I'm definitely starting to get overwhelmed with stuff at this point of the year. Tons of stuff I'm enjoying, have enjoyed, and want to check out. I have time to listen to music though. Sometimes at work, when I'm walking the dog, driving, or just chilling at home.

I also have this problem. I want to have an opinion and be a part of the conversation whether it's me having a negative opinion on it, so I listen to most everything even if I know I'm not going to like it. You wouldn't believe how many horrible rap releases I listen to just to keep up on blogs/Twitter/talking to friends irl/talking to friends on here. Good problem to have I guess.
