On a serious note this whole thing feels like a fucked up fever dream. It really sucks. I hope Nicole and the others can find some semblance of peace after this

 

I hope so too. From the Vulture piece it sounds like she is still desperately searching for closure on it and doesn't really know how to get it.

I just truly can't believe that the band hasn't given a single update since the first two posts. The subreddit is going absolutely bonkers with their defense of him and attacks of Nicole and the longer they stay silent the more it just festers and becomes even more harmful.

 

My understanding is that they knew about the whole thing, and they knew since a long, long way back. If they say that they didn't, they become vulnerable to a situation where people like Derrick can call out them on it and say they knew.

Which opens yet another pandora box: if this was an open secret in the Long Island scene, other than sly remarks about Lacey being a dick, what else could anyone other in the scene do? If the victims aren't ready to step forward, what can people not involved in the situation do about that? If the rest of the band knew, how the fuck Brand New lasted with all the original members this long? I can understand the rest of them not opening this in the past, what I can't understand is them sticking around knowing all of this, even if for a last album and tour.

Of course they’re making shit up. Look at this post! The band stayed together for the money after he fucked his cousin’s fiancé. Fuck this shit. A band member and another source told me this via email. Fuck, I’m getting mad now. This is insane.

 

I'd call those subreddit people trolls but I'm not sure who they are trolling...themselves? All this over 5 albums? Find another band to worship.

 

Also the label and those associated with it aren’t coming off super great in this. Neither are the silent band members.

I was obsessed (healthily I guess after seeing the shit other people do) with this band and I was never tempted to make a fake post about them. People are weird.

 

Didn’t see that, but he hasn’t done enough imo given what I know he knows and what happened here.

I think It comes down to whether or not he truly believes Jesse's professional help rehabilitated him, from what Jason is suggesting maybe thats not a possibility tho.
