I liked Nier a lot, but I didn't love it as much as some of you do.

HAHAH just realized this is the $100 version with season pass and all. Got it for $11 with tax.

 

I’m like 10 minuets into Nier and, while I’m definitely on board, this is already extremely repetitive.

 

Did they misplace a decimal or something? So $9.999 instead of $99.99? haha

 

Nier has one of the best stories in all of gaming at that’s why it’s my GOTY. Not many games have that thought provoking of a story.

 

Nier has fantastic gameplay too. It's definitely more simplified than something like Bayonetta but the combat is still very enjoyable and it changes up the gameplay enough to keep things interesting throughout. I was constantly being surprised by that game and the things you could do. I wish more games would be as adventurous.

 

Just so I’m clear on the anti Sony takes in here, it’s bad that they build on top of appreciated base game designs and concepts to make adored and critically acclaimed games, as well listen to fans by making games in the mold of what they’ve been asking for years?

 

Yeah I don't get the Sony hate either, but whatever. I get to enjoy a lot of very good games on my PS4.

 

The PS4 is like the 2nd best or 3rd best console ever, only 2nd to the ps2.
The fans are insufferable.

 

You haven't read what I wrote apparently. I said nothing about whether or not the process is good or bad. I said I often don't like the results of the process and explained why, prefacing it with that it's matter of personal taste. I even acknowledged the craftsmanship.

It's my fault, I forgot that criticism of "adored and critically acclaimed games" is forbidden, unless Microsoft makes them of course.

That’s fair, I think I missed some posts during the beginning of writing what I said, to when I made my post.

To me, the argument should be about publishers actively ignoring risky ingenuity amongst developers in favor of safe, money making options.

It might not be a reinvention of the wheel, but I can’t help but be impressed with Sony in a year where we got Nioh, NieR, Horizon, and Persona.
