    I think he meant quarter of a century...but yeah...what a moron!

Warped was fun when I was like 14-17 but I won't miss it especially after learning about what a POS Slime-man is. I've always preferred club shows to fests anyways.

Oh just confused on how you could want to support the tour when the conversation is basically Kevin Lyman is a sack of shit. But your "music fandom" is probably more important...

i dont think he is a sack of shit. I'm actually in complete disagreement with the majority on this website, but i'm choosing not to get into it here because i think a lot of these issues are complex and require a face to face discussion.

Instead I'm choosing to simply ignore that side of the argument and focus on the many positives warped tour and kevin lyman has brought to my life.

A tour that's brought me an immense amount of good memories and was a major contributor to the type of music fan I am today. I dont think Kevin is a piece of shit. We can get into why I dont think he is, but for many reasons, I'm not interested in getting into it on here. It's not worth it. I know where you all stand.

Uproar's dead too, ran by the same people as Mayhem. SS is perfect were it is now, it has the biggest bands in extreme music with smaller bands and they play venues that are the right size for it. Personally, I'd like something like Sounds of The Underground to come back in some capacity.

I've had great memories of Warped but it's time for it to go. Plus, I was first sad about the news but then when I read that interview, fuck Kevin. Like dude made plenty of bad choices with the artists he gave exposure as headliners, the FPS incident, and just the overall disinterest in protecting female attendees from sexual harassment/assault or predators and listening to women address these concerns.

Also, wasn't Warped Tour losing money every year from a shrinking attendance? I saw the boxscore for this previous year, and it wasn't pretty.

This year was pretty bad from what I heard too. Not surprising when your headliners aren't exactly ticket sellers, which is a shame because there was some really good bands on the lineup this year.

You're right that these issues are very complex, but "choosing to simply ignore [one] side of the argument" isn't the way to get a better understanding of the matter at hand.

I understand that you seem to have an emotional attachment to Warped Tour, but having good memories of, and recognizing there's a problem with it are not mutually exclusive, as it is the case for (probably) most of the people here.

Maybe I’m overthinking but I found it weird that Kevin Lyman referred to sexual assaults within the music scene he works in as “things”. Not surprising but still weird

Speaking of Netflix and touring festivals, I remember watching that Cameron Dallas "show" where he goes out on tour with other YouTubers. Those shows looked packed and they were always adding second and third shows. Since their fans come out for that, I wonder why YouTube doesn't create their own touring festival featuring these YouTubers and musicians that are popular on there? Call it the YouTour or something like that. Have it at the venues Warped does and have 3-5 stages featuring these YouTubers, YouTube bands (like Our Last Night) and maybe a "local" stage. Charge an arm and a leg for "premium" meet and greets and also have the smaller acts do meet and greets at their tents. If an allegation comes up against one of the artists, you just replace them with another YouTuber that has 50 million views. The best part for YouTube is that everything revolves around it. All these acts are popular because of your website and there's no other place they can really go.

I’m genuinely saying this. It’s worth it to look into his reactions/way of handling specific assault situations, allowing predators to perform after being outed as scum, overall general lack of care or concern for attendees over the years. Kevin is very much stuck in the world he knew when Warped got big. A lot of the reasoning why this tour is not surviving rests on his shoulders. The fact that he blames festivals and Netflix essentially for lower attendance makes it clear he gives zero fucks about any and all missteps he’s made and is slipping out the back door before something even worse happens on this tour, or he says something reaaaallly stupid.

He's a piece of shit. Let's agree to disagree. But I actually met him at Sunset Sessions (which is a whole other industry problem in itself), he gave a keynote speech and it was basically here's how to use your fan base and get rich

If only we knew someone who had pull and connections throughout the scene could pull together a tour to fill the void of what Warped used to be when it was good in the 90's/00's... Jason
