Bright engrams are all cosmetic stuff though that doesn’t hinder me from progressing

 

It isn't though, it's not like aiming includes RNG in a game like that. If you're good your good and that outweighs better guns and so on. I regularly finished at the top of my teams in Battlefield when I was still very low level, in games full of high level people. Pay to win exists, but mostly in free to play mobile games.

 

Activision likes to hide under the disguise of “we are just cosmetic”.

 

I always saw them as that, you could just get the best gear off the bat without earning it.

 

Which is fine with me. I’ve paid no money for bright engrams and I’m still able to obtain them and get the cosmetic upgrades I want

 

That’s you and you are one person. I applaud you for that but it’s still part of the bigger problem.

 

Yeah but the advantage is negligible if you're not good at the game.

That being said Battlfield's monetization model annoys the shit out of me. Selling map packs splinters the user base.

 

I'm just salty because I wasn't good enough to get all the jet upgrades.

uh, we very much cared about Overwatch and stuff, it's just that Blizzard fanboys like to swipe every criticism of their darling under the rug. EA isn't being singled out, that narrative is bullshit.

I'm running around as samurai Mario right now, no microtransactions needed. This is what gaming in 2017 should be.

 

None of my faves this year had MTs in them. Nier:Automata and Zelda are so fucking sublime I can't even.

 

If we had Thanksgiving in this country, this year I'd be thankful for Nier: Automata.

I'm only a little less than half way through my second play through, and I'll echo that Neir is absolutely incredible. That, Horizon and Zelda have really dominated my year.

 

There’s absolutely no hypocrisy in being more angry about paying to win in BF2 than paying for cosmetic boxes in Overwatch. The fact remains that all loot boxes that are purchased with real money are bad, cosmetic or not. Some loot boxes are more bad than others, though. It’s possible to understand that nuance while also recognizing that the entire situation is horrible.
