Seeing people get excited about a new Glassjaw release just reminds me that a song like "lovebites and razorlines" exists and it's disgusting.

 

I don't remember the last time I listened to EYEWTKAS and I can't see myself ever doing so again. Thankfully, it seems that (especially) Daryl & Beck have distanced themselves from that album as much as possible.

 

Reddit is absolutely disgusting and scary to visit in general, but there are so many great subs that I still use it a lot. The Stranger Things sub has been an amazing escape the last few weeks, and especially after this news.

 

How did Anthony Kiedis not face legal repercussions for admitting in his book that he was sleeping with an underage girl?

 

I've always had bad feelings about Real Friends in general. I'm not associated with the current Chicago scene in any way, though, so it was all on intuition but I trust myself over the words of others.

 

If there isn't "evidence" or the minor/family don't press charges, I don't think there's much to be done. Most of the people mentioned as abusers in this thread are probably in the same vein.

 

What does everyone think? Like, idk how you're supposed respond to shit like this.

God, I'm so glad I never got into the whole nudes thing. I always thought that you need to be a fucking moron to be interested in sending/receiving naked pics - once that pic is sent, it could go anywhere. I'm not saying this as a judgment of the young girls who feel victim or pressured into sending them, but more about these older guys who should have known that their stuff could have been screenshotted at any time and used against them later. I'm happy that these screenshots exist to shed light on how fucked this is, but how dumb do you have to be to not consider that BEFORE you act like a creep? I have done/said enough terrible shit in my past - the last thing I or anyone needs is their naked body floating around the web, especially when your package looks like the guy from PtV.

 

Well what I think is I really don't like the part where he mentions she propositioned him for oral sex and he oh so heroically declined this offer. Feels pretty intentional to try to ruin this girls image and put himself on a pedestal, and I don't really see where it was necessary for him to include that.

 

His last couple sentences are also pretty indicative of him prioritizing himself and his own image over hers. Basically, "I really hope she doesn't actually feel how she says she feels. Don't you see how much that would hurt MY feelings?"

Prosecutors, in cases where a minor was sexually assaulted, usually can bring charges without the accuser involved if they feel it's appropriate.

Yeah, it's unfair, but until they do something their silence tells me everything I need to know.

I was thinking about this this morning. This thread has been something. From the elation the day that it was created (new Brand New, finally!!!!) to blakebeats and now to all this dark, shitty stuff. For better or for worse this thread has been quite a ride haha
