Seeing that show listing further reminds me that I wish Schuba's generally had more shows I was interested in because I love the venue. Haven't been back there since December(?) of last year.

As I post this, they totally have a free show that I'm "interested" in going to on Facebook that I'm skipping because yolo.

I write parts of songs alllllll the time. I have a backlog of shit on my phone. That said, they almost never become full realized. I only have one full song that's actually recorded and it's a few years old now

The reason i asked about how many people in this thread write music is because I’m in a weird predicament right now. One of my best friends opened up to me about something that happening in his life that is basically the root of his depression, it’s really heavy stuff though and he has never told anybody else about it. After he told me the only thing i knew to do was pick up my guitar. I wrote this song completely on ad-lib like i literally just hit record and started playing and singing and the song is one of the most “real” songs I’ve ever written and I’m really nervous to show him though

it started to play. sounds alright, hoping this means there is an album coming, because I always like albums better than individual songs.

the drums were a little boring to me as that's usually the standout for me with sparta.

Don’t be offended if it’s a couple weeks before i respond! I don’t have Instagram on my phone right now. I find every few months i need to delete it for a bit because i find myself mindlessly scrolling through it too much.

Haha sometimes I’ll just be sitting on it and realize “my brain has literally been running on autopilot for like 10 minutes”... that’s when I’m like okay time for a break lol

 

Shameless self promotion here but peep the new Chorus Fall Music Mixtape. I have a contribution on there, granted, I actually recorded it a couple months ago for something else, I just changed the levels on some of the vocals that I wasn't happy with and it sounds a lot better IMO. I think I'm track twelve I dunno but it says on there

Edit: yeah, 12, True Love Will Find You In The End. Again, didnt record it for this, just remixed it a bit, but I think it fits the "fall" theme

Lol the one original song I have recorded was when I was first introduced to Mount Eerie and Godspeed and those were easily my biggest influences. Mount Eerie still influences me a lot when I write tbh, I just love how he's able to write amazing music and keep it relatively simple
