Yeah I assume it will be alternate history WWI but I think I'm just not a fan of games based on real wars. They do nothing for me anyway, but WWI just seems so out there for a series like Battlefield.

 

Deus Ex is one of the best shooters, you be crazy! Also, stealth is amazing as well, but yeah it is 100% an excellent shooter as well.

 

I played like five mins of the first battlefield online and that's about all the experience I have with that franchise.

Deus Ex stealth is so much better imo. I hated having to play HR as a shooter in certain sections.

 

The only Battlefield games I've played extensively were 1943 and the Bad Company Games. Tried 3 and 4 but always lost interest for whatever reason.

 

I have it downloaded! I can't believe I haven't started it yet.

Agreed, but it is more than a functional shooter. But yeah, the earlier ones were better shooters in my opinion.

 

Man, I get destroyed in the first Deus Ex when I try playing it as a shooter.

 

I mean WWII had actual war strategies and offensives, WWI is lacking a lot of the nuance of war because nobody really knew shit back then when it came to modern fighting. It was a clusterfuck of catastrophes and some of the worst atrocities carried out on battlefields.

WWII imo is an easier sell because it was more if a conventional war, until the US went nuclear. I also don't like WWII games heh.

All warfare is horrifying, but yeah there was that extra level of brutality in actual combat with WW1

 

Has anybody played Deus Ex Invisible War? That's the one that I haven't touched.

 

I enjoy it a lot. It gets a lot of hate, but I think it's a solid 7/10

Persona 5 release date was announced for Japan. Sept 15. Hope it doesn't come out too much later for the U.S because man, it looks so good.

STYLE EVERYWHERE

 

Is continuity between Persona games important? I've never played any of them but really want to, and I don't want to start with 5 without playing the others especially if there's pertinent storyline in them.

 

I can't imagine it'll be any later. This is Atlus' biggest franchise at this point and now that Sega owns them I feel like they'll try to get it to the west quickly.

 

The stories are all separate. There may a reference or cameo that you won't get but you'd be fine starting with 5. That said, Persona 4 is my favorite game and I can't recommend it enough.

 

Cool, good to know. I definitely want to play them all at some point, but I figured if I can join the hype train for the new one I might as well start there if I can.

 

I mastered Medusa right now in my final game with her and I went 21/5/10 in arena. I went bonkers according to my cousin.

 

Next Persona 5 Event is apparently E3 so we'll definitely be getting a western/international date then.

 

I love how crazy arena gets! Such a good game. I think I'll be mastering Mercury and Nox today. Pretty close to mastering Chang'e and Freya too. I want to try Poseidon and Hades after.
