This was always really sad to me. By all accounts it looked like he had cleaned up but when I saw him on the Second Stage tour right before that Soundgarden tour he was playing with a brace on his arm. Probably got hooked again while trying to play through injury. I hope he's doing alright now.

 

alright folks its official. when people ask who my favorite band is i will no longer say "thursday and brand new." the new answer is "thursday and jimmy eat world"

 

Someone asked me this question today and I answered "Jimmy Eat World". It felt so liberating. I didn't even have to hesitate.

Now, time to binge Thursday so I can include them too

I've only listened to them a handful of times.

 

Anyone know how to get rid of screen printed lettering? My girlfriend likes wearing my Brand New sweatshirt because of how comfy it is. If I can get rid of the letters I’d feel better about not throwing it out.

Like... this music is in your dna you can try to forget and refuse to support it but it’s there and it’s real.

I’m a musician and I engrained and studied this band so much it’s insane. There’s a part on my new album that’s almost hard to listen to bc I know I wrote it with brand new in mind... fuck. At some point I will listen to them again and I’m not sure I’ll even enjoy it but that music is part of who I am.

Fuck yeah emogame. The best flash-based game in internet history. The two sequels are fantastic as well. I played so much emogame in high school during AP stat.

 

I wish I liked jimmy as much as you guys did and most people. I loved their last album and I enjoy their stuff but they don’t match up with my musical taste too well.

Been thinking about bands to turn to recently. Some bands I turn on and I immediately turn off because I remember I began listening to them because they sounded like brand new.. maybe it's just because of the "freshness" of this all but everything just seems sour right now. I know it's stupid to let this impact other bands I listen to but right now it just is.

This seems like an easy thing to say now but it wasn’t just Jesse alone that made the songs brand new recorded great it was the whole band working together.. also they are so different impossible to compare really
