    man, I'm pretty Prestigious

Most of those ratings are like at least a half star over what I would've given.

But yeah, Payback was not a great show.

    Guessing that's excluding Owens/Zayn?

Though it was a great show for a B level event, few fucky finishes but once again everything was super solid in-ring. Ryback/Kalisto actually surprised, expected to not care about that match at all.

    A DILAPIDATED BOAT! Prestigious

For context's sake here is where that quote from Al Snow came from, and it's legit dumb as fuck. His whole "Andre/Hogan was a better match than Savage/Steamboat because it drew the most money" argument is ridiculous, It's like saying Tranformers: Age of Extinction was the best film of 2014 because it made the most money that year.
Snow is a person who believes that the quality of matches doesn't mean anything in wrestling. He can only think like a carny and he can't think like a fan, so of course he's going to disagree with Meltzer.

Al Snow is a dumbfuck and is known as such by tons of independent wrestlers.

    man, I'm pretty Prestigious

I guess? I'm not in that big of a habit of rating based on how big I view the show to be. It's still brutally plagued by the exact same problems Mania had: tons of guys still injured, still plenty of nonsensical booking.

Roman could score a lot of points with me if he'd just ditch the spear and use a powerbomb as his finish

The spear is such a lame ass finisher. Rhyno is the last person to make that move even slightly interesting.

I feel like the difference between spears from guys like Rhyno and Goldberg and spears from guys like Roman is that it always felt like Rhyno and Goldberg were spearing straight through the guy. They could be in the middle of the ring and wind up in the corner after the spear so the impact felt so much greater. I feel like Roman (and others) just make impact with their opponent at the point of contact and that's it. There's no force behind it. If any of that makes sense.

Yep, even Edge who is pretty universally loved was a weird guy to use the spear since he wasn't very big.
And the powerbomb is such a good power finish and nobody has really used it in WWE for a while. Makes a ton of sense for Roman especially since he was doing it with the Shield.

    h8 the spear

  14. Owens powerbomb is beautiful.

The pop-up is great, and Crews does his little variation too, but a straight-up powerbomb is still a no-brainer move for a guy like Roman

Yeah, add me in to the group that would love to see Roman use the Powerbomb.

Or just anything but the spear, really.

    Austin's thoughts on Enzo's injury.

“My thoughts on that are, Gotch, when you’re throwing a man through the ropes at that short of a distance, you back off the horsepower. You threw him in with way too much force. I know it was unintentional, I know you were excited, but when you’re that close, you’ve got to slow the horsepower down, and, basically, you just kind of guide him. Give him a little bit of momentum, but you threw him so hard, so close, he couldn’t control anything that resulted in that wicked bump. And, one more mistake: You went and picked him up by his head when he was really in a bad position, he looked bad. You’ve got to be able to sense that.

So, two messages. Don’t use that much horsepower that close … It’s dangerous. And don’t pick a man up by his head if you have an inkling that something went wrong. I’m not coming down on Gotch and I think the excitement got a hold of him, but, man, a really scary bump. Gotch, check on a man before you grab someone by the head if you suspect anything. And that’s just words of wisdom. I’m not eating your ass out. I’m just saying, ‘hey, ease up on the horsepower’.”

“I put a call in to Enzo after the match, just to check on him. He does have a concussion. We had a little conversation. He was all there. And they were riding down the road, booking the territory. So, Enzo, get well soon. I’m thinking about you. I like both tag teams. I’ve really taken a liking to Enzo and Big Cass. I think those guys have a lot of potential and we’ll see what happens with them.”

I listen to Cheap Heat and Talk is Jericho when he has wrestling related guests (and occasionally some of the other guests). I've also recently gotten into WrestleZone. They've got about 7-8 podcasts throughout the week, including The Sharpshooter Show with Bret Hart. Some of them aren't the greatest, but it's something to listen to on my drives to work usually.

With podcasts probably the same as most people in here: Cheap Heat is the only one I listen to regularly every week, Steve Austin and Jericho's podcasts only when they have wrestling people on, Art of Wrestling when he has someone i'm interested in on, sometimes whatever WOL or Bryan and Vinny episodes are free on Itunes, and occasionally Ross Report when he has someone interesting on (even then it's pretty hard to get through).

The only wrestling centric youtube channel I follow is Straight Shoot with Aubrey Sitterson, he usually does WWE PPV and weekly wrestling recaps with guests who are usually either indie wrestlers or PWG regulars.

  24. I would appreciate the spear more if he did it "outta nowhere" more often. I was hoping for a spear when AJ was in the air going for the phenomenal forearm but all I got was a superman punch
