Another victim has come forward with her story

I thought I was the one. I was merely another one.

 

Good lord. He has a specific pattern like any abuser.

 

Man, what a slimeball.

 

That post is extremely well written and shows just how emotionally abusive he's been through the years. The timeline is also upsetting knowing that he was in the process of dating his wife as early as 2006. Like I'm sure she knew of his infidelity but I doubt she knew how rampant and predatory it was.

 

This is the kind of behavior I associate with his "apology" where he talks about manipulation and using people. That pattern of behavior is definitely apparent in a couple of narcissists I've been around. He didn't even come close to acknowledging that he did this to literal children though. That's an entirely different level of abuse.

 

We've got a long way to go but it is reassuring that these stories are starting to be afforded the weight and attention they deserve. I can't imagine that 10 years ago (potentially even one year ago) an allegation like this made on social media would have made it any further than the comments section.

From what I've seen, Rolling Stone, NME, Noisey, Alternative Press and a number of other prominent publications have picked up the story. I'm hoping that it's not just in the wake of the more publicized harassment issues that have come to light over the last few weeks/months.

 

I'd like to post a mod note later but I don't even know what to do. It's just toxic.

It’s been bothering me that Nicole commented her story (with more elaboration) a year ago on a Facebook post and it didn’t get the attention it deserved. I’m glad she was taken seriously this time but it makes me worry about how much else is being missed right under our nose

I'm sure a lot of it had to do with it being a comment on TFB's page and not on BN's directly where people may have jumped on it, and the fact that facebook in general is the worst for actually reading comments. I would never read comments on a tour announcement behind the top couple to show my excitement or add my own, and I think most people do the same thing. The stories under our noses I would expect to come more from tumblr or blogs or even instagram comments more than FB.

I really feel like you should say something. The entire discussion over there really is no less damaging and gross than incels as someone mentioned earlier. You're probably one of the only few people here who could have ANY kind of effect on that cesspool during this.

Funny how when it's a smaller band like Moose Blood or Neck Deep or _________ whomever this site is 95% ready to convict but when it's Brand New it is treated a bit differently...

 

I’ve been following the story on here since Brian’s tweet was posted in the Louis CK thread on Friday and I would say 95% of the people commenting on this site have said they believe Nicole. Check reddit if you’re looking for confirmation bias
