Digging both of these new tracks! They're implementing the electronic influences really well, I think.

I agree, you can tell it's the same producer who did a lot of Anberlin's work. He always did electronic parts well on their albums as well.

I really hope the new album is followed up by some sort of touring. They haven't been to Portland since 2008 and I'd really like to see them live again considering how the new songs sound.

Dan sounds so good on these songs. His voice is just improving as time goes on.

Agreed. I remember thinking that when I first heard Black Sawn and then the Constant. He does keep getting better.

Really wish they had released a version of Wake Up with that original guitar solo at 2:36. That thing smokes. I think Ryan's best guitar playing is on The Black Swan, especially if you count the bonus tracks.

Black Swan is their best album. Pity the radio abandoned them after In The Wake was heavier than Page Avenue. Black Swan could have been big.

Really surprised that Wake Up and I'm Alive weren't bigger than they were. Huge rock songs.

    CALLING ALL SOTY FANS:

My MP3 player crashed :( I got a new one, but I lost all my SOTY songs and the only CD I can find in my collection to rip them From is Black Swan. Can anyone help a brother out with the other tracks? @inwaves @Davjs @Erwin89 anyone?

I wasn't a huge fan of The Constant for a while after it came out, but I'm glad it eventually clicked with me. There's some really great stuff on there. I guess I had just been used to them upping the ante with every album up to that point, and that album felt like they were playing it safe to a degree.

I know it's everyone's least favorite album by them, but it clicked with me instantly. Time Goes On and Ten Years Down are the only two that really had to grow on me really, but from the Children Sing to the incredible lead guitar in Dream is Over I loved it. Won Threw Eight became a favorite too, I still wish they had more songs like that in their discography and can't believe its never been played live.

Won Threw Ate is so goooood. Would be so great live too. Time Goes On has become one of my favorites from the album. I think my least favorite would have to be Remember a Time.

My three least favorites are all Time Goes On, Remember a Time and 10 years Down. I've grown to love the songs but at first thought it was filler so I still rank them bottom. Won Threw Eight, Children Sing, Dream is Over and Holding onto You are my top of that album.

well that's no good, but I agree that its so good!

I love the first 5 tracks on that album actually, I think it is such a good stretch of songs with a lot of variety. There hasn't been a single SOTY song I dislike so I hope Wolves keeps it up.

the ships have all sailed to the sea

I'm kind of bummed that Wolves isn't going to have a banger like To The Burial, Eye For An Eye, or Welcome To Our New War, but I'm excited that they're pushing their sound in new directions.

Yeah me too. I wanted a good mix in there of heavy, soft and poppy but seems like it'll be mostly poppier songs with some screaming thrown in with electric parts. Their heavier tracks are so so good but I still love the other stuff, I'll be good with what I get haha. I know they want a big reaction from this album so I wonder if the poppier/electronic sounds is intentional since it sells more.

I'd definitely love for them to get some more success with this album. I know they've got their die hard fans but there's no reason they shouldn't be a staple on rock radio.

100% agree. Looking back at all their singles, there is no reason that Take Me Back, Wake Up, The Antidote, I'm Alive and The Dream is Over shouldn't have been all hits. I live in St Louis and even there they are not played very much at all, and Phil works at the local rock station here! It's insane and I don't understand it at all.

That's really surprising to me. I always thought they were still really big in STL. I mean I know they can still sell out the Pageant in no time, but still. I actually might be moving to STL or KC next year, depending on which school my girlfriend gets into!
