i’d rather it came out I suppose. We need to know these things. There are bands I’ve heard rumours of and bands I know about first hand and I’m just waiting for the victims to find the courage to speak out.

Just saw this. So this band is done. Guess I know where to put that vinyl that just showed up on my doorstep.

Nothing changes how I feel. At the end of the day I don’t know if I’ll ever listen to BN again.

Though I do think that was a good statement.

    Oh most definitely.

This shit exists and is scarring many, many lives especially of young teens. That's the sad part. I do like to believe all these coming out stories of rape and harassment will lead to a greater end game where people in a position of authority and power (and also your average person included) will stop acting like complete assholes towards innocent, younger people.

My girl has been wearing/borrowing my Brand New hoodie for the past few months. Last night I threw it out and gave her my Noah Gundersen hoodie. I explained to her what happened. Will be throwing everything out

Has anyone posted this? A woman is coming forward with her experiences with Austin Carlile:

Man, what he did was inexcusable. I imagine now that he has a daughter that he’s even more ashamed his actions. Ffs. Still no sympathy though

On top of that, his past actions have significantly affected his bandmates’ livelihoods. I feel sorry for the rest of the band that they go down with him.

Honestly puzzled how people can be criticized for posting "performative BS" and being disgusted with Jessie while you are posting about how the band is more important to you than the victim. I find that disgusting and hypocritical.

    all we have is time

See, I’m not sure how I feel about this. If he truly believes he has changed and wouldn’t harm anyone else, who am I to say he should stop making music? Fame and a platform is something people gave to HIM, it’s not something he gave to us. He gives us his music because that’s what he loves to do. It is on US to reject that if we choose to. If he felt people were in danger and that his behavior could continue, then I’d hope he’d stop touring and hang it up. But something tells me that’s also part of the reason he’s been very low profile with no social media, etc. and probably the reason they barely tour and do stuff anymore.

Whatever. I just think suggesting this or that is so pointless. In the end this is again about the victim. Everyone else is adult enough to perceive it how they will, and make a personal choice regarding their music moving forward while still denouncing his actions. It’s so easy to look at it through an outside lens.

Yeah, but what if some teenager picks the shirt up from Goodwill and has no idea? Their merch is no good. I wouldn't feel comfortable giving the shirts to anyone.

I have a 15 year old brother and this all is really hard to read, especially the toxic comments I read on the Facebook post. Why did I go there... although there was this one gal who was absolutely hammering a guy for his terrible opinions and that made me feel slightly better.

are we still lucky to be here? Prestigious

Former(?) frontman of Of Mice & Men. IIRC he recently left the band because of complications related to his marfan syndrome.

Yeah ill probably give it to goodwill. We run trips to Haiti every year so I should probably save them for that. You right

    Reunion tour

I don't understand saying "his statement wasn't for me"

Who was it for? It certainly doesn't sound like it's for the victim. Is it for his friends and family? I'd like to think he's working through this with them in private. That only leaves the fans.

They wouldn't have given it to him if they knew he was a paedophile

Yeah it is pretty easy, he's a paedophile. How anyone can separate the art from the artist in this situation is beyond me

Jessie's statement was for himself and nobody else based on how he worded it.

How about a homeless shelter? It's getting cold out there, and I think the need for clothes outweighs the desire to not support the band.

He’s not a pedaphile, that’s not the right word. A quick search of the definition should clear that up for you.
